Group A Lithuania - Greece 85-70 Lithuania edged Greek side 85:70 to win Group A at the FIBA U19 World Championship. An outstanding performance by Donatas Motiejunas (213-C-90, agency: Interperformances) was too good for the opponents that also finished with 2-1 record but on the third place. Greece-Croatia 60:72 Croatia became the winner of the XVI Mediterranean Games that were played in Pescara, Italy. An outstanding tournament brought the win for one of the favorite as Croatia won over Greece 72:60. The latter deserved the Gold Medals as well, however due to the last period could not take the win.
