D-League SGs - bringing new quality to Europe? - Jul 9, 2016

This article is focused on 7 players from D-League last season who can bring something new to European basketball. The list has no specific order, because every team has its own needs and preferences.

7. Patrick Christopher (196cm, 1988.)

Patrick is a player with many ups and downs in his career and some problems with injuries as well. Still, he has demonstrated class more than once while wearing Besiktas jersey and he can bring his qualities to Europe again.
Christopher is tall SG with good outside shooting and he is constant scoring thread for any defense. That attribute helps his teammates a lot leaving them with bigger space for penetration or some other play.
Some cons in Christopher game are low aggression at rebounding and rare top defensive effort.

6. Treveon Graham (198cm, 1993.)

Treveon is constant athletic/size thread for the opponents. He has solid scoring ability which can be made even better if he works hard on consistency and 3pt shot. Graham is very team oriented player and he respects role given to him by his coaches. Graham is strong at penetration and around the rim with the variety of moves to score.
Big plus for Treveon is that he is confident defender and that he haunts the opponents very well. Some cons are raw jump shot, below average speed and 3pt shooting.

5. Jabari Brown (193cm, 1992.)

Jabari is scoring oriented SG with solid 3pt and mid-range shooting. He is not impressively fast nor athletic, but his physical tools are more than solid for European basketball. Jabari is very efficient at attacking the rim as well, but he uses jump shot in most of situations passing the defender.
Brown defense and rebounding are at average terms. He can contribute, but nothing flashy will happen in that aspects. Other cons in his game is ast/TO ratio, but heis definitely better than average passer.

4. Jaron Johnson (198cm, 1992.)

Jaron is high risk-high reward player for every Eurocup club this season. He has fought hard to become respectable D-League player after not so shiny college career and he has done it quite good and fast.
In his 2 seasons in D-League Jaron improved in 3pt shooting a lot and as a distributor as well. He is very close to become good 2 way player, but he has long path to go improving his defense (especiallyteam defense efforts).

3. Vander Blue (196cm, 1992.)

Vander is D-League star at this moment but he has not done expected jump to the NBA. Time is passing and maybe this is a moment for his European career. Vander was top 30 player when he entered Marquette but he has not shined there as expected. Since then and going undrafted at 2014. Draft Vander is improving his game but never enough for steady NBA call up.
Blue is bringing great scoring capability around the rim and he is solid pick and roll setter.

2. Erick Green (190cm, 1991.)

Erick is a player who is constantly waiting for right NBA call-up. Still, his name is connected with Greek Powerhouse Olympiacos and we will see if he is going to land in Piraeus or not.
Green is fantastic scorer, great shooter, with some liabilities in defense and creation. Despite that issues, Green can bring new level of basketball to Europe (as he missed to do so in his last spell at Old Continent) and his career will highly depend of patience for him in his new club.

1. Deandre Liggins (198cm, 1988.)

Deandre can be very interesting addition for many Eurocup teams. He can score from perimeter or around the rim, he knows how to assist and generally he is more than average player in many components.
Liggins issues are connected with lacking of aggression in game and missing any field in which he can constantly shine. He has good and athletic body, but he rarely use it to the fullest.

Round 4: Buducnost hand first defeat to Crvena Zvezda - 15 hours ago
It's still too early stage of the Regular Season in ABA League, but even now we can clearly see the differece between stronger teams and outsiders. The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of Serbian Crvena Zvezda (3-1) in Beograd on Sunday night. Hosts were defeated by Montenegrin Buducnost (3-1) 79-75. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Crvena Zvezda. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The guests trailed by 4 points at the h...   [read more]

ABA League 2 round 1 best performance: Mateo Kedzo - 4 days ago
Power forward Mateo Kedzo (205-PF-84) had an amazing evening in the last round for Split, receiving a _A2 Player of the Week award for round 1. The 33-year old player had a double-double of 37 points and 10 rebounds, while his team beat Zrinjski HT (#17, 0-1), the league's bottom-ranked team 90-76. The game rather meaningless between the teams, which do not have any influence on top of the standings. Split is placed at 10th position in ABA League. But it's just the very beg...   [read more]

ABA Liga 2 Round 1: Dynamic BG is defeated by KK Primorska - 5 days ago
The Regular Season in ABA League just started. There was no lack of interesting games this round. The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Serbian Dynamic BG (0-1) in Beograd on Wednesday night. Hosts were defeated by Slovenian KK Primorska (1-0) in overtime 101-90. The game was mostly controlled by KK Primorska. Dynamic BG managed to win fourth quarter 23-11. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening, at least not yet. The game turned upside-down i...   [read more]
