Union Olimpija won 2002 title

   Final-Four (Ljubljana, 22-23/03)

Union Olimpija won the first edition of Adriatic Goodyear Laegue, defeating in the final another Slovenian team Krka 73-59. Italia's very significant, that 3 of Final Four teams came from Slovenia. Pivovarna lost to the champion Union Olimpija in the semifinals 56-69, while Croatian Cibona was defeated by Krka in semis 98-93.

Pivovarna Lasko lost in Siroki and in semifinals (23/03) two pair are already coinfirmed: Union Olimpija - Pivovarna Lasko and Krka - Cibona.

  Round 20 (Feb.23, 2002)

Two rounds before the end of regular season is everything clear. Union Olimpija is league champion and number 1 for Final-Four (Ljubljana, 22-23/03) where will play Krka, Cibona and Pivovarna Lasko, too. Lasko beat Sloboda Dita and catched last spot for final tournament but top scorer Slavko Duscak sprained right ankle and won't play in quarterfinals match of Korac Cup. Union Olimpija easily beat Cibona in Zagreb, but match wasn't peacefully. Josip Sesar (Cibona) Jure Zdovc and Stipe Modric (both Union Olimpija) were disqualified in 25.minute due a fight.

   June 15, 2001 - New Adriatic League established

The new Adriatic League will consist of 12 teams from Slovenija, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro. Draw will be made on June 25th in Zagreb. The competition is to start at the end of September and finish at the and of February. League headquaters in Zagreb announced all 12 teams: Cibona, Split, Zadar, Sava osiguranje (Croatia), Union Olimpija, Krka Telekom, Geoplin Slovan, Pivovarna Lasko (Slovenia), Bosna, Sloboda Dita, Siroki (Bosnia) and Buducnost (Yugoslavia)
