Trent
Plaisted
It seems that BC Zadar has found the solution for the center position in the wake of new season. After Todor Gecevski's (209-C-77, agency: Interperformances) confirmed exit, Zadar's Management reacted quickly securing signature of American center Trent Plaisted (211-F/C-86, agency: Priority Sports, college: BYU). With arrival of Micah Downs (203-G-86, agency: Priority Sports, college: Gonzaga) earlier, now Zadar has filled out the quota of American players for the next season.
Trent Plaisted spent last season in Italy where he played for Angelico Biella. Prior to signing with Zadar, it was reported that Italian outfit Reggio Emillia has been interested for him. It seems that Zadar presented Plaisted better offer so he will be representing Zadar in Regional and European competitions next season. Plaisted himself recently stated that he was pleased how negotiations were going and that he is glad to get a chance to show his skills in Adriatic League as well as European competition Zadar will play in. Plaisted went on to state that he is feeling well after the injury that made him miss part of last season and that he can't wait to start repaying faith shown in him.
Trent Plaisted played at Bringham Young University in the NCAA Division I. In 4 years with the University, he established himself as one of the team's best post players. In his last season with BYU in 2007, Plaisted averaged 15.6 points and 7.7 rebounds in 35 games. Following year, Plaisted was drafted by Seattle Supersonics as 46th pick. Still he did not manage to secure the contract in the NBA so he decided to move to Europe where he signed with Angelico Biella. Injury forced him to miss almost entire season, as he appeared in only 2 games for Biella and averaged 5.0 points and 2.0 rebounds.
