Adriatic league final: Partizan - Cibona 63-49

Partizan grabbed third consecutive Adriatic league title becoming the first team with three trophies in the regional championship. After win against Crvena Zvezda in the semis, Serbian Euroleague representative was too strong for Croatian Euroleague team Cibona 63-49. Novica Velickovic (205-F-86) was a key player of the big final collecting 17 points and 8 rebounds. Stephane Lasme (203-F-82, college: Massachusetts) followed with 11 points and 6 boards, while Milenko Tepic (198-G-87, agency: Beo Basket) and Uros Tripkovic (196-G-86) delivered 8 points each. Alan Anderson (198-G/F-82, college: Michigan St.) shined in loss draining 22 points. The big guy Jared Homan (206-C-83, college: Iowa St.) nailed 11 pts.
Partizan had impressive beginning creating 17-9 lead in the first ten minutes. Serbian team made 7 of 9 attempts from the field until that moment. On the other side, Cibona struggled a lot with just 3 of 12. Partizan opened the second frame with mini 6-2 run for plus 12. Novica Velickovic was on fire for three setting the score to 30-12. Cibona committed many mistakes helping Partizan to grab 35-16 with two minutes left in the first half. However, Jared Homan and Alan Anderson shined for Cibona cutting the margin to 27-38. Alan Anderson continued after the breather leading his team to 43-47 after 30 minutes. Slavko Vranes and Stephane Lasme stepped up for Partizan and with 3 minutes to go for 56-49 lead. Anderson committed a flagrant foul after that and Partizan made 4-0 run for unreachable 58-49 with less than 90 seconds remaining.
After the game head coach of Partizan Belgrade, Dusko Vujosevic, said: 'We deserved this title. We worked very hard during the entire season and this is the award'.
Cibona's head coach Velimir Perasovic (agency: Interperformances) stated that his players weren't in a game mood yesterday. 'I want to congratulate Partizan on this title. They deserved it and not only today, but during the entire season. After first ten minutes it seemed that this final will be real fiasco for us, but we were strong enough to come on minus 4 later. However, we were not able to do more that that. I have to say that my guys weren't in a game mood last night', said Perasovic.
Partizan: Novica Velickovic 17+8 boards, Stephane Lasme 11+6 boards, Milenko Tepic 8, Uros Tripkovic 8
Cibona:
Alan Anderson 22, Jared Homan 11.
