Estonia demonstrated great performance in the first game of Division B action. They destroyed Albania 127-33 for 1-0 record in Group B. Participants of the same pool are also Switzerland, Luxembourg and Bosnia and Herzegovina. Gerly Kostla (180-F-80) scored 23 points in this victory and she grabbed 5 rebounds beside that. Jana Rannaveski (172-G-87) had 18 and Sandra Andersson netted one point less. Albania didnt have anyone with double-digits in scoring. Their leading player was Rezarta Hoxhaj (F-82) with 7 points and 7 boards.
Estonia dominated in all basketball segments in this game. They exploded in the first ten minutes scoring impressive 41 points. On the other side, Albania had only 3 and everything was already resolved. Estonia was a way better team for rest of the game as well. Second frame ended 24-10 and third 31-8. The only question was how big difference it till be at the end. Last ten minutes ended with 31-12 for the final 127-33 devastation by Estonia.
In the next game Estonia will meet Luxembourg (Wednesday). Albania will also play against Luxembourg, but on August 7.

Coincidentally all hosts won their games. An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Durres. Third ranked Goga faced second-best Flamutari. Host Goga (7-1) defeated guests from Vlore (6-2) 69-63. It was a key game for the second position in the league. Goga have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to second place. Defending champion Flamutari dropped to the third position with two games lost. Undefeated leader Tirana delivered the eighth consecutive win.    [read more]
Superliga Round 8: Flamutari lose to Tirana - 1 month ago
The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of undefeated Flamutari (6-1) in Vlore on Saturday night. Hosts were edged by Tirana (7-0) 90-87. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Flamutari. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Undefeated Tirana have an impressive seven-game winning streak. Superliga Round 7: Studenti loses to Flamutari in the game between Top 4 teams - 1 month ago
The game between Top Four teams took place in Tirana. 4th placed host Studenti (3-3) lost to leader Flamutari (6-0) 88-70. The guests trailed by 5 points at the halftime before their 48-25 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Undefeated Flamutari have an impressive series of six victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 6-0 record, which they share with Tirana.
