LUXEMBOURG - ALBANIA 86-72

Luxembourg registered their second win at the EuroBasket 2011 Division B (Qualifying Round). They handed 86-72 loss to Albania, who stays winless in Group B. They have poor 0-6 record. Lena Hetto (184-F-93) shined in victory with 23 points. Jill Bausch (176-G-87) scored 19, while Nadia Mossong (182-F-86) added 15 points and 10 boards. In defeat, Enisa Semanjaku (88) stepped up with 19 points, 7 rebs and 5 assists, while Adelajda Aliaj (188-C-87) had 13 points and 9 boards. Luxembourg had nice first half ending it with 39-29 lead. They continued in the same rhythm after that (24-17) and with ten minutes to go it was already clear who the winner of the night will be. Luxembourg will skip the next round, while Albania will meet Bosnia at home. It could be their chance to register the first win in Division B.

Goga Basket (Superliga) landed American guard Jasmine McRoy (175, college: Mass.-Lowell). She started the season at Zeljeznicar in Bosnia and Herzegovina Division I. Among other achievements McRoy won NJCAA D2 championship title in 2012. She received also All-AEC 2nd Team award back in 2014 at her college time. Superliga Round 9: Goga beats Flamutari in the most crucial game of the week - 1 month ago
Coincidentally all hosts won their games. An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Durres. Third ranked Goga faced second-best Flamutari. Host Goga (7-1) defeated guests from Vlore (6-2) 69-63. It was a key game for the second position in the league. Goga have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to second place. Defending champion Flamutari dropped to the third position with two games lost. Undefeated leader Tirana delivered the eighth consecutive win.    [read more]

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of undefeated Flamutari (6-1) in Vlore on Saturday night. Hosts were edged by Tirana (7-0) 90-87. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Flamutari. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Undefeated Tirana have an impressive seven-game winning streak.
