Poland-Albania 89:59

Poland clinched their place in the EuroBasket field in Slovenia as they finished the Qualification Round with 89:59 win over Albania. Poland grabbed 6-2 record on top of Group E and qualified to EuroBasket 2013.
Albania surprised the hosts in Lublin in the first period taking 19-18 lead. Gerti Shima (202-PF-86) brought 22:20 but it was the last lead for Albania. Poland pushed the tempo for good and dominated the rest of the game. They won the second frame 24-15 and added 20-8 in the third quarter. Moreover Poland needed 27-17 in the last stanza for the comfortable victory.
Marcin Gortat (211-C-84) stepped up with 18 points and 10 rebounds, while Przemyslaw Zamojski (194-SG-86, agency: Alti Sport, college: Independence CC) nailed 13. Michal Ignerski (207-F-80, agency: Stanley International, college: Mississippi St.) followed them with 11 points in a win. Klaudio Ndoja (198-SG-85) finished the game with 18 points in the losing effort and Gerti Shima collected 16 points and 11 boards in defeat. Endrit Hysenagolli (204-C-88) scored 13 points as Albania is with 0-7 record on the bottom.

The Regular Season in Superliga just started. The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Vllaznia Shkodra (0-1) on the court of SK Tirana on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by SK Tirana 82-65. SK Tirana is looking forward to face Kamza Basket (#5) on the road in the next round. Sport Klub Tirana (Superliga) landed experienced 34-year old former Albanian international point guard Erkand Karaj (188-82). It is actually his comeback to SK Tirana as he has played here before. Karaj has a double citizenship as he also holds Luxembourg passport. Karaj has played for the last four years at Kamza Basket in the Superliga. Lietuvos Rytas Vilnius (LKL) inked 32-year old Albanian international point guard Rashaun Broadus (183-87kg-84, college: BYU, agency: Octagon Europe). He has a double citizenship as he also holds American passport. Broadus played most recently at MKS Dabrowa Gornicza in Polish TBL league.
