Superliga Round 8: Teuta hands first loss to SK Tirana - Dec 12, 2016

There are only two more rounds left in the Regular Season in Superliga.

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of SK Tirana (7-1) in Durres on Saturday night. Visitors were edged by second ranked Teuta (6-2) 76-73. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of SK Tirana. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. Teuta have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 6-2 record behind leader SK Tirana. SK Tirana at the other side still keeps top place with one game lost. Teuta are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Flamurtari (#6) in Vlore in the next round. SK Tirana will play against Ardhmeria (#5) and is hoping to win this game.
Bottom-ranked Flamurtari is still unable to win any game. This time they lost on the road their eighth consecutive match to fourth ranked Kamza Basket (4-4) 98-65. Kamza Basket maintains fourth position with 4-4 record. Flamurtari at the other side still closes the standings with eight games lost. Kamza Basket will play against higher ranked Vllaznia Shkodra (#3) on the road in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Flamurtari will play against the league's second-placed Teuta and hopes to get finally their first victory.
The game in was also quite interesting. Third ranked Vllaznia Shkodra (5-3) played at the court of 5th ranked Ardhmeria (2-6). Vllaznia Shkodra managed to secure a 8-point victory 60-52 on Saturday. Defending champion maintains third position with 5-3 record having just two points less than leader SK Tirana. Newly promoted Ardhmeria keeps the fifth place with six games lost. Vllaznia Shkodra will meet at home Kamza Basket (#4) in the next round. Ardhmeria will play against the league's leader SK Tirana and hope to secure a win.

Kamza Basket - Flamurtari 98-65

Bottom-ranked Flamurtari is still unable to win any game. This time they lost on the road their eighth consecutive match to fourth ranked Kamza Basket (4-4) 98-65. The game was mostly controlled by Kamza Basket. Flamurtari was better in fourth quarter 43-27. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Flamurtari to just 3 points in third quarter. Kamza Basket maintains fourth position with 4-4 record. Flamurtari at the other side still closes the standings with eight games lost. Kamza Basket will play against higher ranked Vllaznia Shkodra (#3) on the road in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Flamurtari will play against the league's second-placed Teuta and hopes to get finally their first victory.

Ardhmeria - Vllaznia 52-60

The game in was also quite interesting. Third ranked Vllaznia Shkodra (5-3) played at the court of 5th ranked Ardhmeria (2-6). Vllaznia Shkodra managed to secure a 8-point victory 60-52 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 2 points after three quarters before their 20-10 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Defending champion maintains third position with 5-3 record having just two points less than leader SK Tirana. Newly promoted Ardhmeria keeps the fifth place with six games lost. Vllaznia Shkodra will meet at home Kamza Basket (#4) in the next round. Ardhmeria will play against the league's leader SK Tirana and hope to secure a win.
