   #1. This week's number one is former international swingman Klaudio Ndoja (201-85, currently plays in Italy). Ndoja could not help Virtus Bologna (18-7) in their last game on Sunday. Despite his good performance the first-placed Virtus Bologna (18-7) was defeated 113-105 on the road by the much lower-ranked Verona (#8) in the East group. Ndoja scored 13 points. It's Ndoja's first season with the team. This year he averages: 7.8ppg, 3.3rpg, 2FGP: 52.9%, 3FGP: 33.3% and FT: 72.7%. Ndoja has a dual citizenship: Albanian and Italian. He played for the Albanian senior national team five years ago.

   #2. Second place goes to former international shooting guard Franko Bushati (189-85, agency: Two Points, currently plays in Italy). Bushati was not able to help Brescia in their game against Openjobmetis VA (9-14) in the Italian Serie A, despite his good performance on Sunday night. He scored 11 points in a mere 19 minutes. But Brescia lost 78-87 at home to the lower-ranked (#13) Openjobmetis VA. It was Brescia's third consecutive loss in a row. This year Bushati's overall stats are: 2.8ppg, 1.1rpg, 2FGP: 42.9%, 3FGP: 29.7% and FT: 53.3% in 23 games he played so far. He is another player who holds two passports: Albanian and Italian. Bushati played for the Albanian national team in 2012.

Rashaun Broadus

   #3. The Albanian player who performed third best last week abroad was an experienced international point guard Rashaun Broadus (183-84, agency: Octagon Europe, college: BYU, currently plays in Germany). He was the major contributor in a SC Rasta Vechta's surprising victory against the eighth-ranked EWE Baskets (13-12) 89-76 in the German BBL in Saturday night's game. Broadus scored 14 points and added 9 passes. SC Rasta Vechta (2-22) is placed second from the bottom (#17) in the BBL. They ended the series of seventeen consecutive loses. Broadus' total stats this season are: 5.8ppg, 1.5rpg, 5.4apg, 1.3spg, 2FGP: 38.2% and FT: 57.1%. He is a naturalized American. Broadus is also a member of the Albanian senior national team. Strangely he has never played in Albania.

   #4. Guard Elvisi Dusha (188-94, currently plays in United Kingdom) was not able to secure a victory for Plymouth Raiders (12-13) in their game against Leeds Force (7-21) in the British BBL, despite his very good performance last Sunday. Dusha was the second best scorer with 13 points. He also added 3 assists in a mere 17 minutes. But Plymouth Raiders was crushed 99-69 in Leeds by the one of league's weakest teams (#11) Force. It was Plymouth Raiders' fourth consecutive loss in a row. This year Dusha's total stats are: 4.0ppg, 1.9rpg and 1.8apg in nine games. He has both Albanian and British nationalities. Despite Dusha played previously for the British U20 national team, he is currently in the Albanian national team roster.

   #5. U18 international center Frenki Lilaj (201-98, currently plays in Czech Republic) couldn't help GBA Sparta (5-17) in their game against Novy Jicin (8-14) in the Czech Republic 1Liga (second division). Lilaj cannot count it as his best performance. He scored only one point and grabbed 9 rebounds in 22 minutes. GBA Sparta (#6) was crushed 100-77 on their home court in Praha by the higher-ranked (#4) Novy Jicin in the Places 13-20 group. It was GBA Sparta's tenth consecutive loss in a row. There are only four games left until the end of the Second Stage. So now every game will be critical. Lilaj has averaged so far 2.1ppg and 2.9rpg in eight games. He plays currently for the Albanian U18 national team.

Vildan Mitku
Vildan Mitku
   #6. Forward Vildan Mitku (200-83, currently plays in Germany) couldn't help Tuebingen II (8-16) in their game against Fellbach (10-14) in the German Regionalliga (fourth division). Mitku recorded 9 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists. But Tuebingen II (#11) was defeated 69-65 on their home court in Tuebingen by the higher-ranked Fellbach (#9) in the South-West group. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial. Mitku is one of the most experienced players in a team as it's his sixth year in Tuebingen II's roster. He has individually a very good season with high stats. Mitku averages: 16.2ppg, 6.7rpg, 1.6apg and 1.3spg. He is a former international player as he played for the Albanian senior team six years ago.


The list of other players, who all have Albanian passport but never been selected to any of Albanian national teams:

   #1. Erjon Kastrati (198-SG-94, currently plays in ABA League) contributed to Krka's surprising victory against the seventh-ranked Cibona (11-15) 95-91 in the ABA League in Sunday night's game. He scored 8 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 23 minutes. Krka Novo Mesto (8-18) is placed second from the bottom (#13) in the ABA League. It was Krka's first victory after five consecutive loses. The Regular Season already ended in the ABA League. It's Kastrati's fifth season with the team. This year Kastrati averages: 3.6ppg and 2.3rpg in 23 games he played so far. He has a dual citizenship: Kosovan and Albanian.

   #2. Besnik Bekteshi (191-G-93, currently plays in Germany) managed to help SC Rasta Vechta to win against the eighth-ranked EWE Baskets (13-12) 89-76 in the German BBL on Saturday night. Bekteshi scored 5 points. SC Rasta Vechta (2-22) is placed second from the bottom (#17) in the BBL. It was his team's first victory after seventeen consecutive loses. Bekteshi has averaged so far 4.0ppg and 1.9apg. He is another player who holds two passports: Albanian and German.

   #3. Klaudio Patani (197-F/C-96, currently plays in Italy) could not help Isernia (7-16) in their last game. Despite Patani's good performance Isernia (#13) was crushed 74-42 on the road by the much higher-ranked (#4) Pescara in the Group D. He was the top scorer with 13 points. Patani also added 9 rebounds in 26 minutes. It was Isernia's third consecutive loss in a row. Patani has averaged so far 9.7ppg and 7.4rpg in 23 games. He has both Albanian and Italian nationalities.   



Superliga Round 17: Vllaznia Shkodra beat Ardhmeria by two after a very close game - 5 days ago
Fifth-ranked Ardhmeria (5-12) used its home court advantage to challenge second ranked Vllaznia Shkodra (12-5) on Sunday. The visitors from Shkodra managed to secure only two-point victory 66-64. However their fans expected easier game. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Ardhmeria. Spiro Leka is the new head coach of Consultinvest VL Pesaro. The news was made official after the club and former head coach, Piero Bucchi, agreed to mutually part ways earlier this month.
