Netherlands U18-Armenia U18 103:40(32-15, 24-11, 21-8, 26-6)

Netherlands U18 did not have many troubles in the first game of the U18 European Championship in Sofia, Bulgaria. The team that appeared in the court aganst them was Armenia. The latter did their best but were smashed 103:40. Joshua Kramer (192-F-90) led the way with 21 points. Bob van den Enden (-89) ended up with 19, as Kherrazi scored 18 points and made 14 rebounds. Gevorg Mayilyan (-90) posted 12 in the losing effort.

Netherlands took a lead from the first minuutes of the game. Armenia saw only one time a tie when Andranik Novents (-89) tied at 2-2. It took Armenia more than 5 minutes to score another 2 points. The first quarter was ended as the teams had 32:15 for the favorites.
Kherrazi increased the lead to 20 points after he made a jump-shot. It was him again who made the difference 30 points in the end of the half.
In the second half instead of opened game Netherlands paid too much attention in defense. As a result the team left Armenia in 8 in the third and 6 in the last. Netherlands overwhelmed Armenia 103:40 to take the first spot in the group.

Armenia surprised Slovak Republic 75-61 in Yerevan at the start of the European Pre-Qualifers in Group A. They trailed 15-20 after the first ten minutes before the massive 31-10 surge in the second frame. Moreover the hosts added a 13-9 run as A.J. Terry Smith (ex Joventut) agreed terms with Hyeres-Toulon - 20 days ago
Hyeres-Toulon Var Basket (ProA) strengthened their roster with addition of 31-year old American (has also Armenian passport) point guard Terry Smith (185-86, college: Mercyhurst). He played most recently at Joventut in Spanish Liga Endesa. In 16 games he recorded 5.6ppg, 1.2rpg and 1.4apg last season.
