EuroBasket 2010, Division C (Finals): Armenia - Malta 65-74

Malta is the winner of EuroBasket 2010, Division C. Josephine Grima (193-C-84) and her teammates managed to beat Armenia in the Big Final 65-74 grabbing the title in Yerevan. The host of this event faced with defeat and they finished as No.2 Grima was the leading player in Malta with double-double of 22 points and 14 rebounds. Rebecca Thoresen (178-F/G-78) secured a nice help adding 13 points and the same number of boards. Ashleigh Vella (182-F-90) had 13 pts, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. In Armenia, Christina Kepenekian (168-G-85) collected 28 points and 5 rebs. Despite defeat in the Finals, Kepenekian was named MVP of EuroBasket 2010, Division C. Amanda Jackson (175-G/F-85, college: Miami (OH)) had 15 points and 12 rebs in this game, while Anna Baghdoyan (180-F-84) stopped on 14 pts.
Malta took control or Armenia at the very beginning. After ten minutes of play, Malta was already 10-19 up. They still were in control in Q2 (13-17) increasing the lead to 13 points until the half time. Armenia improved after the breather closing the gap to 4 points before the last frame. However, Malta was the best when it was the most important for them ending the last ten minutes with 13-18 for the final 65-74 win.
Malta finished EuroBasket 2010, Division C with perfect 4-0 record.

Nantes Reze Basket (LFB) inked 30-year old American (has also Armenian passport) swingman Quianna Chaney (180-86, college: LSU, agency: Two Points). She played most recently at UNI Gyor in Hungarian A Division. In 16 games she averaged 11.9ppg, 3.3rpg, 3.6apg and 1.4spg last season. She helped them to make it to the final and cup semifinals. The previous (14-15) season Chaney played at Botas (KBSL) in Turkish league. In 25 games she had 9.7ppg, 2.8rpg, 4.4apg and 1.3spg in 2014-15 season....   [read more]
Stepanakert wins Armenian League - Feb 4, 2016

Stepanakert wins Armenian League as they finished the tournament undefeated. The team posted 5 victories in the same number of games played. Grand Sport finished second in the League. The third place went to Erebuny. Six teams participated in the League with a round-robin system.   [read more]
Armenia U18 team will participate at 2016 European Championship - Nov 20, 2015

Armenian National U18 team will participate at the Eurobasket 2016 in Division C. The place and the full list of the teams will be known on 22nd of January. Let us remind you that Armenia U16 team finished second at the Eurobasket Division C this year. Only in the Final game Iceland beat Armenia 76-39. Mane Hokhoyan responded with 11 points and 11 rebounds for Armenia. Before the Final game Armenia won three games in a row.   [read more]
