Israel U16-Armenia U16 72:76

Israel made it to the semis despite the loss to Armenia at the U16 European Championship in Division B. Three teams finished with 1-2 records in Group F, while Israel had better difference amongst Hungary and Armenia. The latter won over Israel 76:72 but finished fourth in the group.
Israel opened the game with 19:16 as Zalmanson closed the period with a jump shot. Sergei Pogosyan (95) tied the game at 24:24 and his three-pointer gave Armenia 27:26 lead. Later Arkadiy Mkrtychyan (95) tied it all at 31:31, while Itay Segev (195-F-95) made the same at 38:38 at the halftime. Both teams nailed 22 points in the third quarter to stay together and only in the last period Armenia managed to grab the win. Trailing 70:71, Armenia erupted with 6-0 run and then Naor Sharon (191-PG-95) closed the game from the free throw line.
Andrey Konstantinov (95) stepped up with 14 points for the winners and Sergey Polukhin (95) as well as Arkadiy Mkrtychyan posted 12 apiece. Sergei Pogosyan followed them with 11 points in the winning effort. Naor Sharon delivered 14 points in defeat and Itay Segev added 12.

UConn center to play for Armenia despite no ties to nation - 19 days ago

UConn center Steven Enoch(6'11''-F-97) has never been to Armenia, or anywhere overseas for that matter. But next month, the 6-foot-11 sophomore from Norwalk will be travelling to Greece to play for the U-20 Armenian national team at the Division B European Championships. Bryant Dunston (203-C-86) is among the Armenian National Team training camp invitees. The center has agreed to play for Armenia in the upcoming European Championship for Small Countries. Armenia will gather on June 1 and soon after will travel to Moldova to take part in the international friendly tournament. Bryant Dunston spent the last season with Anadolu Efes in Turkey.
