Armenia stepped closer to the 5th place at the U16 European Championship in Division B. The team edged the Dutch side 85:71 in the Classification Round for 5-8 places. Both teams will play their final games tomorrow.
The Dutch team controlled the first period and Jaron Dijkhuizen (195-F-95) scored for 10:2. Rosenmuller brought 16:12 in the start of the second period and Jaron Dijkhuizen added two for 22:14. Armenia meanwhile won the second frame and took 33:31 halftime advantage. The third quarter also belonged to the winning side that improved to 58:54 at the end of it. Another 27-17 in the last quarter brought the final result in the game.
Arkadiy Mkrtychyan (95) stepped up with 22 points and Sergei Pogosyan (95) netted 21. Andrey Konstantinov (95) followed them with 14, while Vladimir Radivoevich (95) nailed 11 points. Bas Veenstra (204-F-95) collected 17 points and 10 rebounds in defeat as Holladn will play for 7-8 places. Jaron Dijkhuizen notched 16, while Willem Brandwijk (204-F-95) posted 11.
