The House of Armenia in Glendale, California, USA, celebrated and officially introduced the Armenian Mens National Basketball team to the community and media this week.

The team, comprised of both Armenian-American, Armenian national and international athletes, is led by Head Coach Carl Bardakian, a Los Angeles based and well-experienced basketball coach.

The mens team is said to be looking forward to achieving the same success which the Armenian Womens National Basketball team had in 2011, by winning the silver medal in the European Championship, for which purpose it is currently accepting offers for sponsorships.

Asbarez.com reports that the official introduction of the National Team on Wednesday was witnessed by some prominent athletes of the present and past, including Soviet-Armenian soccer player Sergei Bondarenko (Ararat 73), Armenian-American professional boxer Vanes Norik Martirosyan and others.

On behalf of the community and the Consulate, Armenias Consul General to Los Angeles Grigor Hovhannissian conveyed immense pride and faith in the talents and capabilities of the nations mens basketball team.
