Gmunden takes the Cup! - Jan 30, 2012

UBSC Raiffeisen Graz - Allianz Swans Gmunden 58:74 (45:54, 28:36, 14:13)

The medical departments of both teams did a great job overnight, except for Thomas Stelzer, who fails at Gmunden, with his broken nose, chipped actors are all there. For the Swans it is still a change in the starting lineup. In a well-filled park Gssinger active Enis Murati starts in place of Florian Schninger together with Poiger, Mayer, Curry and Oppland. The UBSC starts 'default' with Schaal, Ambrose, Moric, Stegnjaic and Grum. Both teams come into the game slowly, in the fourth minute we stop at 4:4. At 6:8 (5) is the first time ahead of Gmunden, at 11:8 for the UBSC there are the first (Gmunden) break (6th). Even then it continues with intensive and low hit rates. It remains tight after 10 minutes is the UBSC ahead by 1. The second quarter starts with 6 points and the first Gmunden Graz timeout with 14:18 (12th). In the state it remains until the 14th Minute, then on both sides met again after 17 minutes, we better hold on the next draw, 23:23. A series of three-pointers taken away then brings the swans to 26:34 (19), with 8 points ahead of Gmunden, it goes into the cabin.

The first basket after the break makes the UBSC, then the Swans to extend their lead at 32:44 but can. This results in the 23 Minute to the next break in Graz. But this does not detract from the dominance of Gmunden, therefore, asks UBSC steel pit-head coach just 2 minutes later with the score at 34:48 for the next meeting. The fruiting better now, Christopher Knox, shortened single-handedly to 40:48 (26). The UBSC now defended zone, it knows Gmunden no answer, but they can become even prevent further Grazer success. Only in the 28th Minutes following the 41:48 and 43:48. Now the swans can break their lock and basket with 9-point lead going into the fourth quarter. This projection is melting up to the 33rd Minutes to 50:56 and in the 35th Double-digit minutes (50:64). Now the Grazer no recipe found on the offensive and are mainly due to an outstanding Matthias Mayer at this stage that presents Gmunden at 52:69. Two of the three UBSC 58:69 to arrive too late, his success Gmunden can play safely home. Quotes: Peter Stahl, Head Coach of the UBSC: 'Congratulations to the Swans, they deserved to win. I think the decision has been made ??in the first half, when we actually had control of the game and then completely open with three three-pointers allowed the Swans, which draw on +8. In such a tough tournament against such an experienced team, it is hard to catch up then. The fact that we have lost by 16 then, was the fact that we had to finally take risk. The rise may or may not. ' Mathias Fischer, head coach of the Swans: 'First, a compliment to our opponents, Graz has called us 38 minutes full. I am proud of my team, as they came back after the tough last games. It is difficult to single out someone is to highlight the team, they worked great this weekend. ' the thrower: Stegnjaic 10, Ambrose, R. Lanegger, Knox, both 9, Moric, Grum of 8, 4 Schaal, A. Lanegger 1 Curry and 16 D.
