Playoff Finals, Game 5: Furstenfeld -
Gmunden
68-76 (2-3)
Allianz Swans Gmunden is the new champion of Austria. They outscored
Furstenfeld Panthers in crucial Game Five of the Playoff Finals and
grabbed back the title after two years.
Deteri Mayes (189-G-74, agency:

Murray St.) exploded in this victory with 30 points and 8 rebounds.
He made 5 of 7 attempts from behind the arc.
Ian Boylan (197-G/F-83, agency:
Pro Partner Sports Management, college:
Cal.St. Northridge) was the last once with double-digits in scoring
for the guests - 10 pts. He also had 6 rebounds and 6 assists last
night. On the other side,
Jasmon Youngblood
(195-G-84, agency:

Desmond Penigar (201-F-81, college:

St.) (8 rebs) and
Nathaniel Linhart (201-F-86, college:

who made 14-17 lead after opening ten minutes. Nothing has change after
that as visitors were still in control. They managed to score 18 pts in
the second period and went on the half time with decent 29-35 lead.
Third quarter belonged to Panthers 21-19 and the game was still pretty
open. However,
Deteri Mayes was on the other side and was unstoppable in offense.
He paced Gmunden to 18-22 in the last period, what was way more than
enough for the A Bundesleague title after two years. Last season it was
Wels who won it. As a reminder, Gmunden advanced to Playoffs as the
second ranked team in the league with 24-8 record. On their way to the
Finals,
Deteri Mayes and his teammates eliminated St. Polten and Kapfenberg
with perfect 3-0.
