Oberwart are new A Bundesliga champions. They held off Gmunden in the decisive fifth game of the title series. David Gonzalvez (193-G-87, college: Richmond) stepped up for the Gunners with 15 points and 7 rebounds.
Gmunden looked good early in the game. The hosts dominated every facet of the encounter in the starting period. Gmunden opened the game with a 17:2 rally. Oberwart cut the deficit but still trailed by 13 points at the first term 11:24. The Gunners tipped off the second quarter with a 9:2 rally to get closer. Gmunden restored a 13-point buffer late in the first half before Kelvin Parker (183-G-82, college: NW Missouri St.) made it 27:38 at halftime. Oberwart went on an 8:1 run to begin the second half. Joe Dean Shaw (199-F-87, college: Nevada) drew things level late in the third frame. Ian Boylan (197-G/F-83, college: Cal.St. Northridge) secured a narrow 54:53 advantage for Gmunden as the teams headed into the fourth term. The visitors netted five points in a row at the start of the final stanza to spur in front. The Gunners boosted the gap to 6 points with under four minutes to go. The visiting team were up by six with just 71 seconds to go. Ian Boylan and Deteri Mayes (189-G-74, agency: Court Side, college: Murray St.) dragged the home team within two points but Kelvin Parker nailed four consecutive free throws to seal the victory and championship title for Oberwart. He finished with 13 points, while Joe Dean Shaw added 11 points for the winners. Ian Boylan answered with 28 points for Gmunden. Deteri Mayes had 20 points in the loss.

Allianz Swans Gmunden grab Supercup 2010 as they won the Final game last night. The Swans rolled over BSC Raiffeisen Furstenfeld Panthers 69:60 for the first trophy in this season.
BSC Raiffeisen Furstenfeld Panthers started better and enjoyed 14:12 after the first period. The second period started with an alley-oop with Ian Ian Boylan (197-G/F-83, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management, college: Cal.St. Northridge) and Anthony Anthony Slack (202-F/C-84, college: Illinois St.) and then Swans took the lead in the game. They grabbed 29:20 advantage and led to 36:32 at the halftime. The third quarter however again belonged to the Panthers that bounced back for 53:52 advantage. Only due the win in the last quarter Allianz Swans Gmunden managed to triumph in the game.
Deteri Mayes (189-G-74, agency: Court Side, college: Murray St.) was unstoppable with 29 points for the winners. Ian Boylan netted 16, while Anthony Slack posted 10. Dan Oppland (203-F-84, agency: SportsTalent, college: Valparaiso) notched 6 and Roman Moschny (202-F-90) delivered 3. Dennis Carr (201-F-81, college: Embry Riddle) responded with 24 points in the losing effort. De'Angelo Alexander (198-G-84, college: Charlotte) nailed 16 and Smith added 13 points.
