Flying Foxes - Lemminkainen 78-61

Flying Foxes said goodbye to EuroCup 2011/12 with 78-81 home victory against Lemminkainen. The Austrian champion finished with 3-3 record in Group D. However, it was enough only for third place and the Foxes failed to reach the next stage. On the other side, Lemminkainen is the last ranked team in this pool. They have poor 0-6. Lindsay Wisdom-Hylton (188-PF-86, agency: LBM Management, college: Purdue) shined for the hosts with 19 points and 8 rebounds. Kachine Alexander (174-PG-89, agency: LBM Management, college: Iowa) had 13 points and 5 rebs, while Nikol Soulis (190-C-85, college: Wisc.-Green Bay) (5 rebs) and Petra Steger (177-SG-87) netted 12 points each. Jevgenija Sharovka (175-G-88, agency: LBM Management) had 16 points and 6 rebounds for the guests. Monika Grigalauskyte (190-PF-92) (12 rebs) and Julita Bungaite (186-PF-87, college: Hawaii) netted 10 points each. Quarters: 23-10, 27-20, 16-11, 12-20.

Stella Popp joins Basket Flames - 7 days ago

Basket Flames Vienna (ASWBL) added to their roster 15-year old small forward Stella Popp (176-1). Popp represented Austria at the European Championships U16 Division B in Oradea (Romania) this year. Her stats at that event were 6 games: 6.3ppg, 4.2rpg, 1.2apg, 1.5spg, FGP: 36.8%, 3PT: 18.2%, FT: 50.0%. Popp is a very experienced player. Flying Foxes Post SV Wien (ASWBL) landed Slovakian coach Stanislav Onuska. He coached most recently at SBK Samorin in Slovakian Extraliga. Among other achievements Onuska coached in the final of Slovakian Extraliga in 2008, 2009, 2011, 2012 and 2013. He has coached also professionally in Slovakia for MBK Ruzomberok.
