U18 AUSTRIA - U18 LATVIA 32-73

Latvia had no troubles to beat Austria in the last day of U18 EuroBasket Division B in Strumica. Latvia celebrated huge 73-32 win in the game for 9th place at this event. Austria finished as No.10. Latvia jumped to double-digit lead already in the first quarter and extended it to plus 27 until the halftime. Nothing has changed after the breather as Latvia was still dominating and extending its lead from minute to minute until the final 73-32. Paula Tomsone (193-C-94) (6 rebs) and Kitija Laksa (180-G-96) scored 15 points each for the winners. Paula Langina (180-F-94) added 14 points and 7 rebounds. In Austria, Aleksandra Novakovic (172-PG-94) was the leading scorer with just 8 points. Anja Fuchs-Robetin (180-SG-96) (6 rebs) and Simona Wagner (190-C-95) netted 5 pts each. Belarus won the Gold in Strumica.

Flying Foxes repeated as AWBL champions. They wrapped up their perfect season with the sweep of the championship series versus Basket Flames. Flying Foxes won the first two games of the Finals against Basket Flames. The defending champions posted a 72-55 in Game 1 and then 59-40 in Game 2 to step closer to the title. FINAL Flying Foxes - Basket Flames 72-55 Flying Foxes grabbed 1-0 lead in the championship series. They outgunned Basket Flames in the opener.
