Austria U18-Hungary U18 71:69

Austria wins Group G of the Classification Round for 9th to 16th Place at the U18 European Championship in Division B. Austria beat Hungary 71:69 to seal the top place with 3-0 record. Hungary meanwhile finished with 2-1 record on the second place.
It was the game of two different halves. Austria started well and won the game due to the first and last quarters. They opened the game with 29-15, but lost the second and the third periods. Simon gave Hungary 52:48 after three quarters played. Austria trailed 9 points with 8 minutes to go however won the game. Knor tied it all at 59:59 and then Jakob Poeltl (208-PF-95) brought 69:65. The latter also scored two from the free throw line to seal the victory with Austria.
Jakob Poeltl erupted with 20 points and 17 rebounds for the winners and Timur Bas (198-PF-94) notched 13. Valentin Bauer (181-PG-94) poured in 11 and Benedikt Guettl (188-G-94) added 7. Zoltan Perl (194-G-95) answered with 22 points in the losing effort, while Gyorgy Goloman (204-PF-96) brought 15.

Ovarense Dolce Vita (LPB) added to their roster 25-year old American (has also Austrian passport) forward Bryce Douvier (201-104kg-91). He just graduated from Texas A&M - Corpus Christi (NCAA). Douvier has played there for the last three years. In 33 games he recorded 10.1ppg and 6.7rpg last season. ECE Bulls Kapfenberg (A Bundesliga) landed 24-year old Serbian point guard Bogic Vujosevic (189-92) from Vienna. In 43 A Bundesliga games in Austria he averaged 13.8ppg, 3.6rpg, 5.0apg (top 5) and 1.5spg (in top 4) last season. He helped them to win the Supercup and make to league semifinals. The UBSC Raiffeisen Graz has brought back a "lost son". The club has managed to aquire national team player Anton Maresch(191-SG-91) who started his career playing for Graz. After suiting up for the UBSC in the ABL from 2007 to 2010 Maresch went on to play for the BK Dukes Klosterneuburg.
