The BC Zepter Vienna continues to strenghten their roster for the upcoming season. Vienna announced just today that the club has signed power forward Shelton Colwell (202-C/F-80, college: Missouri St.). Together with center Zarko Rakocevic the duo will be the dominant front court in the ABL. Colwell is a well known player in Austria as he already played for the Furstenfeld Panthers twice as well as for the Gmunden Swans. Colwell won a championship with the Panthers in 2008 and reached the ABL finals in 2009 as well as 2010. He was selected to the Austrian All Star Game both in 2009 and 2010. Colwell spent the last season playing in Lebanon for Atranik Beirut before moving to Quatar in March. For Beirut Colwell averaged 23.9 ppg along with 11.1 rpg. WIth Al Arabi Club Doha the big man reached the quarterfinals of the Emir Cup.

Arkadia Traiskirchen Lions (A Bundesliga) signed 23-year old Bulgarian international power forward Dimitar Dimitrov (203-93, agency: Interperformances). It is actually his comeback to Arkadia Lions as he has played here before. Dimitrov already started the season at Lukoil Academic Sofia in Bulgarian NBL league. The Arkadia Traiskirchen Lions have parted ways with Jason Detrick (195-SF-80, college: Oklahoma, agency: Three Eye Sports) and Luka Gvozden (184-PG-93). Their respective 1 month contracts were over and were not extended. The Lions wanted to sign Detrick for the remainder of the season but the two parties couldn't agree on a deal. Croatian Shooting guard Marko Car (188-SG-85) had a very impressive game in the last round for Furstenfeld, receiving a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 10.
