Austria celebrated the second success in Group C of the EuroBasket Qualification Round. The team caught up with Hungary at 2-3 record after a home 77:52 win over Cyprus. The latter fell at 0-5 record.
Austria opened the game with 24-14 and never looked behind after. They added defensive 14-8 in the second frame as Thomas Klepeisz (185-PG-91, agency: TSS Management) sent the teams to the lockers at 38:22. Cyprus managed to win the third period 22-19 and reduced to 13 points at the end of 30 minutes. Austria however finished with strong 20-8 to seal the victory.
Thomas Klepeisz paced all the winners with 15 points and Rasid Mahalbasic (208-C-90) added 14. Sebastian Koch (202-F-88) notched 11, while Christoph Nagler (196-G/F-84) scored 10. Andreas Sizopoulos (193-G-83) replied with 12 points in the losing case and Alexandros Liatsos (200-F-80, college: Ohio) scored 10. Anthony King (206-F/C-85, agency: Interperformances, college: Miami, FL) followed them with 8 points and 11 caroms in a loss.

Just days after being replaced at UBSC Raiffeisen Graz by Lluis Pino, Peter Stahl signed with the BSC Raiffeisen Furstenfeld Panthers.
