AWBL defending champions Flying Foxes ensured a confident start to their 12/13 campaign. They thumped UBI Graz 90:28 on the road. Elisabeth Pavel (192-C-90) came up with 22 points to lead the reigning champs. Flying Foxes ensured a 55:15 halftime lead and never looked back en route to the victory. C'eira Ricketts (175-G-90, agency: Two Points, college: Arkansas) and Angela Steger (178-SF-85) accounted for 17 points each in the win. Annika Neumann (171-SG-96) and Camilla Neumann (183-F-94) answered with 7 points apiece in the loss.
BK Duchess broke sweat before taking a 69:65 road win over BC Vienna 87. Sophia Plank (178-G/F-83) stepped up with 18 points to lead the effort. The hosts led by 11 points ten minutes into the game but BK Duchess went on a 21:14 run in the fourth quarter to snatch the victory. Katharina Podoschek (168-G-80) contributed 11 points for the winners. Anja Zderadicka (171-PG-92) responded with 17 points for BC Vienna. Sigrid Koizar (173-PG-95) netted 16 points for the home team.

UBBC Lions Enns Ladys wins AWBL 2 finishing with a 6-0 record on top. In their last game they beat TS Innsbruck 85:53. Trailing 12-15 at the end of the first period, UBBC Lions Enns Ladys needed a massive 24-10 surge to take the lead at the halftime and never trailed again. They added a 25-12 rally in the third period and closed the game with a massive 26-16 surge. Flying Foxes SVS Post wins the 10th title in a row in Austria. The team swept the Final series against Basket Flames 3-0 as they also won the last game 81:57. The favorites started the game with a massive 32-7 surge and never looked behind after. Basket Flames looked better in the second half but could only reduce the gap to the final score.
