The Regular Season in A Bundesliga just started.

UBSC Graz - Gmunden 77-75
The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 23-14. But Gmunden Swans won fourth quarter 28-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. UBSC Graz made 21-of-27 charity shots (77.8 percent) during the game. 25 personal fouls committed by Gmunden Swans helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The game was dominated by American players. Swingman Michael Anthony Dale (197-G/F-84, college: S.Illinois) (197-84, college: S.Illinois) nailed 22 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side and point guard Eric Gilchrese (183-87, college: New Hampshire) accounted for 19 points. Dale is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Forward Robert Arnold (198-88, college: Boise St.) came up with 18 points and 8 rebounds and forward Dan Oppland (203-84, college: Valparaiso, agency: SportsTalent) added 17 points respectively for Gmunden Swans in the defeat.

The guests trailed by 9 points after first quarter, but they rallied back getting tie in the second period and winning the second half and won the game by 9 points. American forward Joe Dean Shaw (199-87, college: Nevada) stepped up and scored 29 points and 8 rebounds for the winners and his fellow American import guard Giovonne Woods (191-86, college: Cent.Washington, agency: Court Side) chipped in 13 points and 6 assists. At the losing side Bosnian power forward Ramiz Suljanovic (205-79) responded with 24 points and 9 rebounds (on 11-of-12 shooting from the field) and the former international swingman Christoph Nagler (196-84) scored 14 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures.

The game was mostly controlled by BC Vienna. St.Polten managed to win second period 18-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded St.Polten 40-27 including 28 on the defensive glass. Swingman Florian Trmal (193-89) fired a double-double by scoring 23 points and 15 rebounds for the winners. American swingman Shawn Ray (194-80, college: N.C.Central) chipped in 17 points and 5 rebounds. Five BC Vienna players scored in double figures. BC Vienna's coach Andrea Maghelli felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
