Sebastian Koch (202-F-88) had a very impressive game in the last round for Vienna and that's him to receive a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 5. The 28-year old forward had the game-high 25 points adding eight rebounds and three assists for Vienna in his team's victory, helping them to outclass Kapfenberg (1-4) with 35-point margin 93-58. Vienna maintains the 9th position in Austria A Bundesliga. The season is still in it's early stage, so the team may have a chance to improve their current position in the standings. They lost 4 games and had just one victory. In the team's last game Koch had a remarkable 66.7% from 2-point range and got four three-pointers out of 9 attempts. He turned to be Vienna's top player in his first season with the team. Sebastian Koch averages this season 15.8ppg.
The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 30-year old Argentinian forward Fabricio Vay (207-F-86, agency: Interperformances) of Arkadia. Vay impressed basketball fans with 23 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Bad luck as Arkadia lost that game 73-81 to slightly higher-ranked Oberwart (#3, 3-1). This loss caused Arkadia to drop to 5th position in the standings. His team lost some distance to top teams. But 2-2 record is not bad and everything may still change. Vay is one of the most experienced players at Arkadia and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 18.8ppg (#6). His other stats are also decent: 8.3rpg and 4.0apg.
The third best performed player last round was another Vienna's star - Serbian Predrag Miletic (193-SG-84). Miletic scored 24 points and grabbed six rebounds. He was another key player of Vienna, helping his team with a 93-58 easy win against Kapfenberg (1-4). Vienna can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have extremely bad season and 1-4 record places them at the very bottom of the standings. Too bad for Miletic he does not play for a better team. But maybe if he did, his season stats would not be that high. Miletic has a very solid season. In 5 games in Austria he scored 17.4ppg.
Other top performing players last week: 4. Anton Maresch (191-SG-91) of UBSC Graz - 19 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists 5. Anthony Clemmons (186-PG-94) of Vienna - 23 points and 6 assists 6.
