32-year old swingman Shawn Ray (194-G/F-80) had a great game in the last round for league's best team BC Vienna and receives a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 9.
He had a double-double of 33 points and 12 rebounds, while his team edged out Wels (#6, 5-4) 90-86. It allowed BC Vienna to consolidate first place in the Austrian league. BC Vienna have a solid 8-1 record. In the team's last game Ray had a remarkable four three-pointers out of 7 attempts. He turned to be BC Vienna's top player in his first season with the team. N.Carolina Central graduate has very impressive stats this year. Ray is in league's top in points (6th best: 19.6ppg), rebounds (6th best: 7.2rpg) and averages solid 54.0% FGP and 46.7% from behind 3-point line.

Second best performed player last round was Maurice Pearson (206-F/C-89) of Furstenfeld. He is American forward in his first season at Furstenfeld. In the last game Pearson recorded impressive double-double of 25 points and 13 rebounds. It was enough for Furstenfeld to edge slightly lower-ranked UBSC Graz (#9, 3-5) by 6 points 80-74. Furstenfeld's 8th position in the standings has not changed. His team lost some distance to top teams. But 4-4 record is not bad and everything may still change. Pearson is a newcomer at Furstenfeld and quickly became one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 23.4ppg (#2). He also registered 13.3 boards per game.

Third place about best performers goes to forward Mark Sanchez (201-F-87, agency: Court Side) of Kapfenberg (#3). Sanchez scored 24 points and passed five assists. He was a key player of Kapfenberg, leading his team to a 85-65 easy win against the lower-ranked St.Polten (#10, 1-7). Kapfenberg needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 5 victories and 3 lost games. Sanchez has a very solid season. In 8 games in Austria he scored 15.1ppg. He also has 6.9rpg and FGP: 67.3%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Radosav Spasojevic (204-F/C-92) of Arkadia - 26 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists
5. Tyler Tiedeman (201-F-85) of Wels - 28 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists
6. Richard Poiger (202-SF-87) of Gmunden - 15 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists
7. DeVaughn Washington (202-F-89) of Wels - 19 points, 11 rebounds and 2 assists
8. Mirza Ahmetbasic (193-G-87) of Wels - 21 points, 10 rebounds and 2 assists
9. Martin Kohlmaier (218-C-84) of St.Polten - 21 points and 5 rebounds
10. Michael Anthony Dale (197-G/F-84) of UBSC Graz - 26 points and 3 rebounds

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
