Kara Trutnov - Flying Foxes 89:69

Kara Trutnov registered the second win in the Central Europe Women League Group A. They breezed past Flying Foxes at home court. Ambrosia Anderson (186-F-84, college: BYU) delivered 22 points and 15 rebounds to pace the hosts. Trutnov improved at 2-1 record, while Flying Foxes slipped at 1-2.
Kara Trutnov enjoyed a 25:19 lead ten minutes into the game. They stretched the gap in the second frame. The Czech team accumulated a 50:38 halftime advantage. The hosts remained dominant after the big break. Trutnov kept Flying Foxes at bay throughout the third quarter. The home team accounted for a 69:51 advantage at the final intermission. Flying Foxes could not recover in the fourth term as the hosts cruised to the victory. Andrea Ovsikova (178-F-89) and Milena Steffanova (180-F-81) netted 14 points each for the winners. Jana Lichnerova (193-C-76) answered with 19 points for the Austrian champions. Ceira Ricketts (175-G-90, agency: Two Points, college: Arkansas) provided 15 points in defeat.

Stella Popp joins Basket Flames - 1 month ago

Basket Flames Vienna (ASWBL) added to their roster 15-year old small forward Stella Popp (176-1). Popp represented Austria at the European Championships U16 Division B in Oradea (Romania) this year. Her stats at that event were 6 games: 6.3ppg, 4.2rpg, 1.2apg, 1.5spg, FGP: 36.8%, 3PT: 18.2%, FT: 50.0%. Popp is a very experienced player. Flying Foxes land coach Stanislav Onuska, ex Samorin - 1 month ago

Flying Foxes Post SV Wien (ASWBL) landed Slovakian coach Stanislav Onuska. He coached most recently at SBK Samorin in Slovakian Extraliga. Among other achievements Onuska coached in the final of Slovakian Extraliga in 2008, 2009, 2011, 2012 and 2013. He has coached also professionally in Slovakia for MBK Ruzomberok.
