Arkadia Lions' fans can finally celebrate the first win of their team after ten consecutive loses. The victory is especially important as it came on the road game in St.Polten, where they defeated St.Polten (2-9) 75-69 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 2 points after three quarters before their 25-17 charge, which allowed them to win the game. 30 personal fouls committed by St.Polten helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for Montenegrin power forward Radosav Spasojevic (204-92, agency: Interperformances) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds. Argentinian-Italian center Matias Bortolin (205-93, agency: Interperformances) contributed with 12 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Guard Thomas Csebits (192-89) replied with 13 points and 5 assists for St.Polten. Arkadia Lions maintains eleventh position with 1-10 record. St.Polten at the other side keeps the tenth place with nine games lost. Arkadia Lions are looking forward to face higher ranked Gussing Knights (#7) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. St.Polten will play against the league's leader BC Vienna where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
The game in Wels was also worth to mention about. 5th ranked Furstenfeld Panthers (5-6) played at the court of sixth ranked Raiffeisen Wels (6-5). Raiffeisen Wels defeated Furstenfeld Panthers 91-81. Worth to mention a great performance of American-Iranian point guard Ali Farokhmanesh (183-88, college: N.Iowa, agency: Pro One Sports) who helped to win the game recording 30 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) and Tyler Tiedeman who added 11 points, 9 rebounds and 10 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was American forward Tyrone Sally (201-82, college: W.Virginia) with 21 points and 8 rebounds. Raiffeisen Wels moved-up to fifth place. Furstenfeld Panthers at the other side dropped to the sixth position with six games lost. They share it with Gussing. Raiffeisen Wels will play against Redwell Gunners Oberwart (#9) on the road in the next round. Furstenfeld Panthers will have a break next round.
The game in Graz was also quite interesting. Third ranked Kapfenberg Bulls (8-3) played at the court of 8th ranked UBSC Graz (4-7). Kapfenberg Bulls defeated UBSC Graz 91-76 on Saturday. The winners were led by Mark Sanchez who scored that evening 19 points and 9 rebounds. Even 20 points, 6 assists and 4 steals by Eric Gilchrese did not help to save the game for UBSC Graz. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Kapfenberg Bulls have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Klosterneub. and Gmunden. Loser UBSC Graz keeps the eighth position with seven games lost. They share it with Oberwart. Kapfenberg Bulls will meet at home Xion Dukes (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. UBSC Graz will play against Gmunden Swans (#4) in Gmunden and hope to secure a win.
The game in Gussing was also worth to mention about. Fourth ranked Gmunden Swans (8-3) played at the court of 6th ranked Gussing Knights (5-6). Gmunden Swans managed to secure a 8-point victory 75-67. The best player for the winners was Robert Arnold who scored 16 points. Gmunden Swans have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Klosterneub. and Kapfenberg. Gussing Knights lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with six games lost. Gmunden Swans' next round opponent will be UBSC Graz (#8) at home where they are favorite. Gussing Knights will play against Arkadia Lions in Traiskirchen.

In the last game of round 12 Oberwart were beaten by Klosterneub. on the road 91-80.



Klosterneub. - Oberwart 91-80

No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Xion Dukes (8-3) beat 8th ranked Redwell Gunners Oberwart (4-7) in Klosterneuburg 91-80. The game was mostly controlled by Xion Dukes. Redwell Gunners Oberwart was better in third quarter 17-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Xion Dukes dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Redwell Gunners Oberwart's 32. 27 personal fouls committed by Redwell Gunners Oberwart helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was Bosnian power forward Ramiz Suljanovic (205-79) who scored 27 points and 8 rebounds. American swingman Curtis Bobb (198-78, college: Utah St.) chipped in 18 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Xion Dukes players scored in double figures. Xion Dukes' coach Werner Sallomon allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the other side the best for losing team was American-Puerto Rican point guard Darnell Hinson (186-80, college: Northeastern St.) who recorded 27 points and American-Puerto Rican guard Richard Chaney (196-84, college: Troy) added 18 points and 5 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) respectively. Xion Dukes have a solid four-game winning streak. Defending champion moved-up to second place, which they share with Gmunden and Kapfenberg. Redwell Gunners Oberwart lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with seven games lost. Xion Dukes' next round opponent will be league's second-placed Kapfenberg Bulls on the road and it will be for sure the game of the week. Redwell Gunners Oberwart will play against Raiffeisen Wels (#5).
