Experienced American Jean Francois (197-F-80, agency: I.D.S. Law) had a great game in the last round for league's leader BC Vienna and that's him to receive a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 14.
The 32-year old forward had the game-high 22 points adding six rebounds and two assists for BC Vienna in his team's victory, helping them to beat Furstenfeld (#8, 5-7) 90-79. It allowed BC Vienna to consolidate first place in the Austrian A Bundesliga. BC Vienna has a very good season and are considered to have a run for the championship title. They improved their record to 11-1. It's Francois' second year at BC Vienna and it's hard to imagine this team without him. Jean Francois averages this season 8.8ppg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 25-year old American point guard Eric Gilchrese (183-PG-87) of UBSC Graz. Gilchrese impressed basketball fans with 27 points and 6 assists. Of course he lead UBSC Graz to another comfortable win outscoring slightly lower-ranked Arkadia (#11, 1-12) 99-73. The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. UBSC Graz keeps 9th position. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 5-8 record. Gilchrese is a newcomer at UBSC Graz and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 19.1ppg (#4). He also recorded 3.2 assists per game. University of New Hampshire alumni Gilchrese played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas.

The third best performed player last round was another BC Vienna's star - American Shawn Ray (194-G/F-80). Ray scored 19 points and grabbed ten rebounds. He was another key player of BC Vienna, helping his team with a 90-79 win against the lower-ranked Furstenfeld (#8, 5-7). Many experts and fans count BC Vienna as a contender for championship title. Another victory and another confirmation that they may be right. Just look at their record: 11 victories and only one lost games. They are currently at the very top of the standings. Ray has a great season in Austria. After 12 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 17.9ppg (9th best) and rebounds with 7.1rpg (7th best). He also has FGP: 52.8% and 3PT: 48.1%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Sebastian Koch (202-F-88) of Gussing - 16 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists
5. Matias Bortolin (205-C-93) of Arkadia - 15 points, 9 rebounds and 3 assists
6. DeVaughn Washington (202-F-89) of Wels - 14 points and 8 rebounds
7. Mark Sanchez (201-F-87) of Kapfenberg - 16 points and 9 rebounds
8. Cor-J Cox (195-F/G-90) of Furstenfeld - 18 points and 4 rebounds
9. Blaz Cresnar (214-C-86) of Furstenfeld - 11 points and 6 rebounds
10. Reinhard Lanegger (196-F-81) of UBSC Graz - 17 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
