American power forward Maurice Pearson (206-F/C-89) had an amazing evening in the last round for Furstenfeld, receiving a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 16.
The 23-year old player had a double-double of 26 points and 18 rebounds, while his team Furstenfeld maintains the 9th position in Austrian A Bundesliga. Furstenfeld is rather a weak team placed in lower part in the standings. But it was their 9th lost game this season out of 14 games. Pearson turned to be Furstenfeld's top player in his first season with the team. Former Georgetown College star has very solid stats this year. Pearson. Pearson is in league's top in points (4th best: 18.9ppg) and averages impressive 57.2% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was 34-year old American Curtis Bobb (198-G/F-78) of Klosterneub.. Bobb had a very good evening with 29 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists. Of course he lead Klosterneub. to another comfortable win outscoring the lower-ranked St.Polten (#10, 2-13) 88-65. Klosterneub.'s 4th position in the standings has not changed. His team's 10-5 record is not bad at all. Bobb is one of the most experienced players at Klosterneub. and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third on the list of top players last round was American swingman Shawn Ray (194-G/F-80) of league's top team BC Vienna. Ray scored 26 points and grabbed eight rebounds. He was a key player of BC Vienna, leading his team to a 75-50 easy win against the lower-ranked Oberwart (#7, 6-8). BC Vienna confirms their top position in the standings Ray has a great season in Austria. After 14 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 18.4ppg (6th best) and rebounds with 7.1rpg (7th best). He also has FGP: 55.1% and 3PT: 46.9%.

9. Milan Stegnjaic (204-F/C-81) of UBSC Graz - 21 points, 10 rebounds and 3 assists
10. Elvis Kadic (201-F-80) of Gussing - 20 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

Two players of the Redwell Gunners Oberwart earned ABL league awards yesterday. Guard Sebastian Kaeferle (185-G-96) was voted ABL Rising Star 2016 and follows Daniel Friedrich of Gmunden who earned the inaugural award last season. In a voting by coaches and journalists Kaferle won in front Benedikt Guttl of the Arkadia Traiskirchen Lions and Jozo Rados of the BK Klosterneuburg Dukes finished third. Oberwart - Wels 82-75 Oberwart held off Wels in A Bundesliga Finals opener. The hosts trailed by 9 points at the halftime before their 49-33 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Americans were the main players on the court.
