Here is the weekly review of the top performing Austrian players, who play currently abroad.

   #1. This week's number one is an experienced international small forward Jason Detrick (195-80, agency: Three Eye Sports, college: Oklahoma, currently plays in Brazil). He led Bauru to a 2-point victory over the tenth-ranked Limeira (6-8) 84-82 in the Brazilian NBB in Monday night's game. Detrick was MVP of the game. He scored 17 points in 28 minutes on the court. Paschoalotto/Bauru (13-2) is placed first in the NBB. It's Detrick's first season with the team. This year Detrick averages: 5.5ppg, 1.3rpg, 2FGP: 61.5%, 3FGP: 28.6% and FT: 62.5% in the six games he played so far. He is a naturalized American. Detrick is currently a member of the Austrian senior national team. He used to play for UBC Stahlbau Oberwart Gunners in Austrian league.

Mahalbasic could not help Asseco Prokom Gdynia (10-6) to beat PGE Turow (12-4). He recorded 6 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. Asseco Prokom Gdynia was defeated 90-77 on the road by the leading PGE Turow. Mahalbasic's overall stats this season are: 9.0ppg, 5.3rpg, 2FGP: 58.3%(56-96) and FT: 69.6%.    #3. The Austrian player who performed third best last week abroad was an international power forward Benjamin Ortner (206-83, college: Metro St., currently plays in Italy). Ortner managed to help Montepaschi Siena in a victory against the 13th-ranked Sutor Montegranaro (4-11) 93-79 in the Italian SerieA on Monday night. He scored only 2 points in 8 minutes on the court. Montepaschi Siena (11-3) is placed third in the SerieA. This year Ortner's overall stats are: 2.5ppg, 2.3rpg, 2FGP: 55.6% in the four games. He is also a member of the Austrian senior national team.

Shooting guard Anton Maresch (191-91, agency: Two Points, currently plays in Spain) contributed to a River Andorra's victory against the ninth-ranked Lobe Huesca (6-8) 80-72 in the Spanish LEB Gold (second division) in Friday night's game. Maresch scored 7 points and added 3 passes. B.C. River Andorra (3-0) is placed in the LEB Gold. So far his team won all three games in the Regular Season. Maresch's total stats this season are: 9.2ppg, 2.6rpg and 2.0apg. He is also Austrian national team player.

Just days after being replaced at UBSC Raiffeisen Graz by Lluis Pino, Peter Stahl signed with the BSC Raiffeisen Furstenfeld Panthers. He will replace Radomir Mijanovic who coached the Panthers since 2013. Stahl already coached the Panthers from 2006 to December 2007. He reached the cup final with the Panthers in 2007. Austrian champion Redwell Gunners Oberwart has lost it's starting center. ABL Defensive Player of the Year Chris Ferguson (206-F-89, college: Mid-Continent, agency: HMS) signed with Kanazawa Samuraiz of Japans BL3. Ferguson led the league in blocked shots at 1.8 per game. He added 6.7 rpg and scored 10.4 ppg while appearing in all of the Gunners 44 season games. He won both the ABL championship and the cup title with the Gunners. UBSC Graz hires Lluis Pino Vera as new Head Coach - 4 days ago

UBSC Raiffeisen Graz has hired Lluis Pino as new head coach. Pit Stahl will not return after coaching the team to just eight wins last season. Graz has had a very difficult season with multiple injuries to their core guys. UBSC finished at the bottom of the standings and did not qualify for the playoffs.
