Here is the weekly review of the top performing Austrian players, who play currently abroad.

   #1. This week's number one is an experienced international small forward Jason Detrick (195-80, agency: Three Eye Sports, college: Oklahoma, currently plays in Brazil). He led Bauru to a 2-point victory over the tenth-ranked Limeira (6-8) 84-82 in the Brazilian NBB in Monday night's game. Detrick was MVP of the game. He scored 17 points in 28 minutes on the court. Paschoalotto/Bauru (13-2) is placed first in the NBB. It's Detrick's first season with the team. This year Detrick averages: 5.5ppg, 1.3rpg, 2FGP: 61.5%, 3FGP: 28.6% and FT: 62.5% in the six games he played so far. He is a naturalized American. Detrick is currently a member of the Austrian senior national team. He used to play for UBC Stahlbau Oberwart Gunners in Austrian league.

   #2. Second place goes to an international center Rasid Mahalbasic (211-90, currently plays in Poland), who plays in the Polish TBL. Mahalbasic could not help Asseco Prokom Gdynia (10-6) to beat PGE Turow (12-4). He recorded 6 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. Asseco Prokom Gdynia was defeated 90-77 on the road by the leading PGE Turow. Mahalbasic's overall stats this season are: 9.0ppg, 5.3rpg, 2FGP: 58.3%(56-96) and FT: 69.6%. He has a dual citizenship: Austrian and Slovenian. Ex-kelag Worthersee Piraten player is in the roster of the Austrian senior national team.

   #3. The Austrian player who performed third best last week abroad was an international power forward Benjamin Ortner (206-83, college: Metro St., currently plays in Italy). Ortner managed to help Montepaschi Siena in a victory against the 13th-ranked Sutor Montegranaro (4-11) 93-79 in the Italian SerieA on Monday night. He scored only 2 points in 8 minutes on the court. Montepaschi Siena (11-3) is placed third in the SerieA. This year Ortner's overall stats are: 2.5ppg, 2.3rpg, 2FGP: 55.6% in the four games. He is also a member of the Austrian senior national team.

Shooting guard Anton Maresch (191-91, agency: Two Points, currently plays in Spain) contributed to a River Andorra's victory against the ninth-ranked Lobe Huesca (6-8) 80-72 in the Spanish LEB Gold (second division) in Friday night's game. Maresch scored 7 points and added 3 passes. B.C. River Andorra (3-0) is placed in the LEB Gold. So far his team won all three games in the Regular Season. Maresch's total stats this season are: 9.2ppg, 2.6rpg and 2.0apg. He is also Austrian national team player.

A Bundesliga Regular Season is still in too early stage and there may be still significant changes in the standings. The most interesting game of round 4 was a home defeat of 6th ranked UBSC Graz (1-2) by fifth ranked Redwell Gunners Oberwart (2-1) who outscored them by 17 points 83-66. After 3 rounds played we can already see who rules in the 2.Bundesliga and who belongs to weaker ones. The most important game of round 3 took place in Mistelbach where Mustangs beat UBC St. Polten (2-1) 90-77 on Saturday night. UBC St. Polten will play next round against Raiders trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Mustangs will try to continue on its current victory against BBU S. in Salzburg. JBC MMCITE Brno (NBL) inked 21-year old Austria center C.J. Turman (206-113kg-95, college: Florida Atlantic). He was about to sign at BSC Raiffeisen Furstenfeld Panthers in Austria A Bundesliga.
