Pearson
23-year old power forward Maurice Pearson (206-F/C-89) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Furstenfeld and receives a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 18.
He had a double-double of 27 points and 11 rebounds, while his team crushed Arkadia (#11, 1-15) with 21-point margin 84-63. Furstenfeld is placed at 8th position in Austrian league. Furstenfeld is rather a weak team placed in lower part in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 6-10 record. Pearson turned to be Furstenfeld's top player in his first season with the team. Georgetown College graduate has very impressive stats this year. Pearson. Pearson is in league's top in points (2nd best: 19.3ppg) and averages solid 56.4% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was DeVaughn Washington (202-F-89, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) of Wels. He is American forward in his first season at Wels. In the last game Washington recorded impressive double-double of 32 points and 13 rebounds. Of course he lead Wels to another comfortable win outscoring Gussing (9-8) 105-80. This victory allowed Wels to move up to 5th position in the standings. His team lost some distance to top teams. But 9-8 record is not bad and everything may still change. Washington is a newcomer at Wels and quickly became one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to forward Jason Chappell (208-F/C-83) of Klosterneub. (#4). Chappell scored 25 points. He was a key player of Klosterneub., leading his team to a 91-68 easy win against the lower-ranked UBSC Graz (#9, 6-11). Klosterneub. needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 12 victories and 5 lost games. Chappell has a very solid season. In 12 games in Austria he scored 12.3ppg. He also has 5.3rpg and FGP: 50.6%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Davor Lamesic (205-PF-83) of Wels - 18 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists
5. Seamus Boxley (201-F-82) of Oberwart - 22 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists
6. Stjepan Stazic (199-G-78) of BC Vienna - 13 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists

10. Jason Johnson (202-F/C-77) of Oberwart - 16 points and 9 rebounds

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
