Mark Sanchez
American-Mexican forward Mark Sanchez (201-F-87, agency: Court Side) had a very impressive game in the last round for second-ranked Kapfenberg, receiving a Player of the Week award for round 20.
The 25-year old player was the main contributor (16 points, seven rebounds and six assists) to his team's victory, helping them to crush Arkadia (#11, 1-17) with 23-point margin 104-81. Kapfenberg is placed at 2nd position in Austrian A Bundesliga. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Kapfenberg will need more victories to improve their 14-4 record. In the team's last game Sanchez had a remarkable 85.7% from 2-point range. He turned to be Kapfenberg's top player in his first season with the team. Former Boise State University star has very solid stats this year. Sanchez is in league's top in rebounds (3rd best: 7.8rpg) and averages impressive 68.3% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was 30-year old American Seamus Boxley (201-F-82) of Oberwart. Boxley had a very good evening with 21 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Of course he lead Oberwart to another comfortable win outscoring the lower-ranked St.Polten (#10, 3-16) 97-75. Oberwart's 7th position in the standings has not changed. His team lost some distance to top teams. But 9-9 record is not bad and everything may still change. Boxley is a newcomer at Oberwart, but is already one of team's top players.

Third on the list of top players last round was another Oberwart's star - American guard Richard Chaney (196-G-84). Chaney showcased his all-around game by recording 15 points, seven rebounds and five assists in the last round. He was another key player of Oberwart, helping his team with a 97-75 easy win against the lower-ranked St.Polten (#10, 3-16). Oberwart needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 9 victories and 9 lost games. Chaney has a very solid season. In 7 games in Austria he scored 17.6ppg. He also has 6.1rpg, FGP: 55.6% and 3PT: 50.0%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Maksim Kovacevic (199-G/F-87) of St.Polten - 20 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists
5. Stjepan Stazic (199-G-78) of BC Vienna - 33 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists
6. Darnell Hinson (186-PG-80) of Oberwart - 26 points
7. David Gonzalvez (193-G-87) of Wels - 16 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists
8. Christoph Nagler (196-G/F-84) of Klosterneub. - 21 points
9. Ramiz Suljanovic (205-F/C-79) of Klosterneub. - 18 points and 6 rebounds
10. Moritz Lanegger (190-PG-90) of Klosterneub. - 13 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
