We bring you last week's top performances from Austrians who are playing abroad and who all have had prior experience of national team duties at youth or senior level.

   #1. This week's number one is an international power forward Benjamin Ortner (206-83, college: Metro St., currently plays in Italy). He contributed to a Montepaschi Siena's victory against the league leader Cimberio Varese (15-3) 89-75 in the Italian SerieA in Sunday night's game. Ortner scored 7 points in only 9 minutes on the court. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. Montepaschi Siena (13-5) is placed third in the SerieA. It's Ortner's first season with the team. This year he averages: 3.4ppg, 2.2rpg, 2FGP: 57.1% in the five games he played so far. Ortner is currently a member of the Austrian senior national team.

   #2. Second place goes to former U16 international forward Matej Kljaic (193-91, currently plays in Balkan League). He helped his Croatian team Djuro Djakovic win their game against the fourth-ranked OKK Beograd (0-3) 99-90 in the Balkan League on Tuesday night. Kljaic scored 7 points in 21 minutes. KK Djuro Djakovic Slavonski Brod (3-0) is placed second in group D. So far his team won all three games in the Second Stage. There are only three games left until the end of the Balkan League Second Stage. So now every game will be critical. Kljaic has been at the team for four years. This season his overall stats are: 6.0ppg, 1.3rpg, 2FGP: 46.2%, 3FGP: 41.7% in the six games. Kljaic has a dual citizenship: Austrian and Croatian. Despite he played previously for the Croatian U18 national team, Kljaic played also for the Austrian U16 national team in 2007.

   #3. The Austrian player who performed third best last week abroad was an international point guard Thomas Schreiner (195-87, agency: Dynamics Global Management, currently plays in Spain). He managed to help B.C. River Andorra to win against the league outsider Melilla Baloncesto (4-13) 79-72 in the Spanish LEB Gold (second division) in Friday night's game. Schreiner scored 5 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. B.C. River Andorra (3-0) is placed in the LEB Gold. So far his team won all three games in the Regular Season. Schreiner's total stats this season are: 6.1ppg, 2.8rpg, 2.6apg, 1.5spg, 2FGP: 37.5%, 3FGP: 28.6% and FT: 95.0%(19-20). He is also a member of the Austrian senior national team.

Shooting guard Anton Maresch (191-91, agency: Two Points, currently plays in Spain) is a teammate of previously mentioned Thomas Schreiner and both played together in the last Spanish LEB Gold game. Maresch helped River Andorra win their game against the league outsider Melilla Baloncesto (4-13) 79-72. He scored only 3 points in 27 minutes. This year Maresch's total stats are: 8.8ppg, 2.8rpg and 2.1apg in the 17 games. He is also Austrian national team player.

An experienced international small forward Jason Detrick (195-80, agency: Three Eye Sports, college: Oklahoma, currently plays in Brazil) helped Paschoalotto/Bauru edge the fifth-ranked Vivo/Franca (13-8) 82-80 in the Brazilian NBB on Thursday night. Detrick recorded only 1 points and added 3 passes. Paschoalotto/Bauru (13-2) is placed first in the NBB. Detrick has averaged so far 4.9ppg and 1.5rpg. He is a naturalized American. Detrick plays currently for the Austrian national team. He used to play for UBC Stahlbau Oberwart Gunners in Austrian league.

Jamie Kohn (195-G-89, college: E.Connecticut, currently plays in United Kingdom), who plays in the British EBL D1 (second division) could not help Tees Valley Mohawks (10-5) in their last game on Sunday. Despite his very good performance Tees Valley Mohawks was badly defeated 78-61 on the road by the lower-ranked Bristol Acadamy Flyers (#5). Kohn recorded a double-double by scoring 24 points and getting 17 rebounds. He also added 3 assists. Kohn is ranked fourth on the list of the top scorers in the league and also on the list of best rebounders (fifth place). He has individually a very good season with high stats. Kohn averages: 19.6ppg, 10.6rpg, 2.9apg and 1.3spg.

31-year old shooting guard Marko Car (188-SG-85) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for second-ranked Furstenfeld and receives a Player of the Week award for round 3. He had the game-high 30 points adding five rebounds and five assists for Furstenfeld in his team's victory, helping them to crush Gmunden (2-1) with 17-point margin 82-65. A Bundesliga Round 3: Redwell Gunners Oberwart defeats Dukes - 2 days ago

This is still too early stage of the Regular Season in A Bundesliga and we should expect many changes in upcoming rounds. The most surprising game was a loss of Dukes (1-1) on the court of Redwell Gunners Oberwart on Saturday night. Visitors were rolled over by Redwell Gunners Oberwart 87-60. The hosts trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 3-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 87-60. There were only 2 rounds played so far and it's still very beginning of the Regular Season in 2.Bundesliga. UBC St. Polten smashed Worthersee Piraten in St.Polten 112-58.
