Here is the weekly review of the top performing Austrian players, who play currently abroad.

Benjamin Ortner
Benjamin Ortner
#1. This week's number one is an international power forward Benjamin Ortner (206-83, college: Metro St., currently plays in Italy). He led Montepaschi Siena to an easy victory against one of league's weakest teams Angelico Biella (5-16) crushing them 98-75 in the Italian SerieA in Sunday night's game. Ortner scored 14 points, grabbed 6 rebounds and dished 4 assists (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) in a mere 17 minutes on the court. Montepaschi Siena (14-7) is placed third in the SerieA. It's Ortner's first season with the team. This year he averages: 3.9ppg, 2.5rpg, 2FGP: 57.9%(11-19) in the eight games he played so far. Ortner is currently a member of the Austrian senior national team.

Anton Maresch
Anton Maresch
#2. Second place goes to an international shooting guard Anton Maresch (191-91, agency: Two Points, currently plays in Spain). He was the major contributor in a River Andorra's victory against the tenth-ranked Planasa NV (8-12) crushing them 78-53 in the Spanish LEB Gold (second division) last Friday. Maresch scored 14 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. B.C. River Andorra (3-0) is placed in the LEB Gold. So far his team won all three games in the Regular Season. Maresch's overall stats this season are: 9.0ppg, 2.7rpg, 2.2apg, 2FGP: 39.8%, 3FGP: 42.6% and FT: 78.9%. He is in the roster of the Austrian senior national team.

Rasid Mahalbasic
Rasid Mahalbasic
#3. The Austrian player who performed third best last week abroad was an international center Rasid Mahalbasic (211-90, currently plays in Poland), who plays in the Polish TBL. Mahalbasic could not help Asseco Prokom Gdynia (14-7) to beat Trefl Sopot (14-7). He scored 6 points in 19 minutes. Asseco Prokom Gdynia lost 65-78 on the road to the second-ranked Trefl Sopot. They ended the series of four consecutive victories. Mahalbasic's team will play only one more game in the Regular Season. And that game will be critical. This year Mahalbasic's overall stats are: 8.4ppg, 5.1rpg, 2FGP: 57.0%(69-121) and FT: 66.1% in the 21 games. He has a dual citizenship: Austrian and Slovenian. Kljaic scored 5 points. KK Djuro Djakovic Slavonski Brod (9-7) is placed fifth in the A1. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial.
