Flying Foxes thrashed BK Duchess in the 8th round of the AWBL action. The defending champions cruised past their opponents away from home to celebrate the seventh win in the season. Flying Foxes piled up a 19-point lead at halftime and never looked back in the second half. Kimberly Dietz (175-G-85, college: Kansas St.) knocked down 26 points to lead the charge. Union Kuenring climbed at 4-3 record after the win in Round 7. They upset BK Duchess on the road to catch up with their opponents in the ladder. The Flames dominated this one right from the start. They grabbed a 12-point lead at the interval. Union Kuenring did not slow down after the main break. They kept on delivering consistently in offense piling up a 17-point buffer before the fourth frame. Wels climbed to the second spot in the standings. They defeated another powerhouse to stay in the title race. After beating the defending champions Flying Foxes Wels took care of BK Duchess in Round 6. BK Duchess ensured a slim 34:33 advantage at halftime. But Wels turned things around in the second half.
