We bring you last week's top performances from Austrians who are playing abroad and who all have had prior experience of national team duties at youth or senior level.

   #1. This week's number one is former U16 international point guard David Kramer (191-97, currently plays in Germany). He led ratiopharm Ulm to an easy victory against the 14th-ranked Eisbaeren Bremerhaven (6-14) crushing them 106-66 in the German BBL in Tuesday night's game. Kramer recorded 12 points in a mere 16 minutes on the court. Ratiopharm Ulm (21-0) is placed first in the BBL. So far his team won all twenty one games in the Regular Season. This year Kramer averages: 3.3ppg, 3FGP: 75.0% and FT: 87.5% in eight games he played so far. He has a dual citizenship: Austrian and German. Despite Kramer played previously for the German U20 national team, he played also for the Austrian U16 national team in 2013.

   #2. Second place goes to an international center Rasid Mahalbasic (210-90, agency: BeoBasket, currently plays in Spain). Mahalbasic could not help Sevilla (7-13) in their last game on Sunday. Despite his good performance Sevilla was defeated 77-73 at home by the much higher-ranked Movil Estudiantes (#4). Mahalbasic was the top scorer with 13 points. He also added 9 rebounds. Mahalbasic has relatively good stats this season: 12.6ppg, 6.6rpg, 1.2apg, 2FGP: 64.9%(50-77) and FT: 78.8%. He is another player who holds two passports: Austrian and Slovenian. Ex-kelag Worthersee Piraten player is in the roster of the Austrian senior national team.

   #3. The Austrian player who performed third best last week abroad was former U20 international forward Marvin Ogunsipe (204-96, currently plays in Germany). Ogunsipe managed to help FC Bayern Muenchen to win against the closely-ranked ALBA Berlin (15-8) crushing them 80-56 in the German BBL in Sunday night's game. He recorded only 2 points. FC Bayern Muenchen (18-3) is placed third in the BBL. It was his team's eighth consecutive victory in a row. Ogunsipe's overall stats this season are: 1.0ppg, 1.5rpg. He played for the Austrian U20 national team two years ago.

   #4. Forward Jakob Poeltl (213-95, college: Utah, currently plays in NBA) was not able to help the Toronto Raptors in their game against the Detroit Pistons (26-30) in the NBA. Poeltl recorded 5 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 20 minutes. The Toronto Raptors (33-24) were edged 102-101 on the road by the Pistons. It was Raptors' third consecutive loss in a row. This year Poeltl's overall stats are: 2.3ppg and 2.8rpg in 32 games. He used to play for the Austrian national team back in 2015.

International forward Maximilian Hopfgartner (206-92, agency: Dynamics Global Management, college: John Brown, currently plays in Spain) was not able to secure a victory for Navarra (10-11) in their game against Fontedoso Carrefour (14-7) in the Spanish LEB Silver (third division). Despite his good performance on Saturday night Hopfgartner scored 10 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. This season Hopfgartner has relatively solid stats: 13.0ppg, 6.0rpg and 1.5apg. He plays currently for the Austrian national team.

   #6. Point guard Moritz Lanegger (190-90, currently plays in Denmark) couldn't help Naestved (11-11) in their game against Bakken (18-3) in the Danish Ligaen. Lanegger scored 6 points, had 4 rebounds and dished 3 assists in 25 minutes. Naestved lost 78-83 on their home court in Naestved to the second-ranked Bakken. It's Lanegger's first season with the team. This year his total stats are: 6.5ppg, 4.0rpg, 3.9apg and 1.4spg in 14 games. Lanegger is an international player who is currently on the senior Austrian National Team roster.

   #7. Former U20 international point guard Valentine Bauer (183-94, currently plays in NCAA2) couldn't help the Mars Hill College (3-16) in their game against the Coker College in the NCAA2. Despite his good performance last Saturday He recorded 11 points. There are only two games left until the end of the NCAA2 Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. Bauer has averaged so far 9.1ppg, 3.4rpg and 4.3apg. He used to play for the Austrian U20 national team three years ago.

   #8. Point guard Thomas Klepeisz (186-91, currently plays in Germany) couldn't help Braunschweig (3-15) in their game against ratiopharm Ulm (21-0) in the German BBL. Klepeisz cannot count Sunday's game as one of the best ones. He recorded only 2 points. Braunschweig was crushed 100-76 on their home court in Braunschweig by the leading ratiopharm Ulm. Klepeisz has averaged so far 6.5ppg, 1.3rpg and 1.5apg. He plays currently for the Austrian national team.

   #9. Former U20 international forward Mladen Perak (203-94, currently plays in NAIA) couldn't help the St.Gregory's University (4-11) in their game against the Oklahoma City University in the NAIA. Perak cannot count Saturday's game as one of the best ones. He recorded only 3 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 11 minutes. The St.Gregory's University was edged 67-65 in Oklahoma City by the University. It was St.Gregory's University's third consecutive loss in a row. There are only two games left until the end of the NAIA Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial. Perak has averaged so far 2.0ppg and 2.8rpg in 17 games. He used to play for the Austrian U20 national team three years ago.

The list of other players, who all have Austrian passport but never been selected to any of Austrian national teams:

   #1. Bryce Douvier (201-F-91, college: Texas A&M-CC, currently plays in Portugal) could not help Ovarense (10-11) in their last game. Despite Douvier's very good performance Ovarense lost 95-102 at home to the higher-ranked (#3) Vitoria SC. He had a double-double by scoring 23 points and getting 12 rebounds in 32 minutes; quite an impressive performance considering it's only Douvier's third season in pro basketball. His team will play only one more game in the Regular Season. And that game will be critical. It's Douvier's first year with the team. Douvier has individually a very good season with high stats. He averages: 16.0ppg, 10.2rpg and 1.2apg in 21 games he played so far. Douvier is a naturalized American. Strangely he has never played in Austria.

   #2. Experienced Michael Kaiser (195-G/F-82, currently plays in Germany) was not able to help Herzogenaurach (4-16) in their last game. Despite Kaiser's very good performance the 13th-placed Herzogenaurach (4-16) was badly defeated 86-70 on the road by the higher-ranked (#7) Jena II in the South-East group. He was the top scorer with 25 points. Kaiser also added 5 boards, passed 4 assists and added 5 steals in 33 minutes. Kaiser is one of the most experienced players in a team as it's his ninth year in Herzogenaurach's roster. He has reliable stats this season: 14.4ppg, 3.3rpg, 2.8apg and 1.6spg in 20 games.   

BBU Salzburg keeps Sanchez for another season - 7 hours ago
BBU Salzburg (2.Bundesliga) re-signed 26-year old Spaniard forward Guillermo Sanchez (202-91). He played there last season. It was a very successful year in his career as he was selected to All-Austrian 2.Bundesliga 2nd Team. The previous (15-16) season Sanchez played at Moron in Spanish LEB Silver. GS Kymis (A1) inked 25-year old American forward Jamari Traylor (203-100kg-92, college: Kansas). He played most recently at Redwell Gunners Oberwart in Austrian A Bundesliga. In 40 games he averaged 10.2ppg, 7.0rpg, 1.3apg, 1.3spg and 1.5bpg last season. Traylor helped them to win the regular season and make it to the final. They also played in the Supercup final. BK Klosterneuburg Dukes (A Bundesliga) landed 23-year old Austrian point guard Valentine Bauer (183-79kg-94). It is actually his comeback to Dukes as he has played here before. Bauer just graduated from Mars Hill (NCAA2). He has played there for the last three years. Bauer also played 21 games where he averaged 8.6ppg, 3.5rpg and 4.3apg last season.
