Leader Redwell Gunners Oberwart delivered the seventeenth win on Sunday night. This time they crushed 8th ranked UBSC Graz (5-16) 100-59. The game was mostly controlled by Redwell Gunners Oberwart. UBSC Graz managed to win third quarter 19-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Redwell Gunners Oberwart dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to UBSC Graz's 32. Redwell Gunners Oberwart forced 21 UBSC Graz turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. The best player for the winners was American guard Andell Cumberbatch (196-93, college: St.Bonaventure, agency: Octagon Europe) who scored 20 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). His fellow American import point guard Derek Jackson (185-91, college: Kent St., agency: Mansfield and Associates) chipped in 18 points and 6 assists. Redwell Gunners Oberwart's coach Chris Chougaz felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Slovenian power forward Drago Brcina (205-87) produced 12 points and 8 rebounds for the hosts. Redwell Gunners Oberwart have a solid series of three victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 17-3 record. UBSC Graz lost seventh consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with 16 games lost. Redwell Gunners Oberwart are looking forward to face Arkadia Lions (#7) in Traiskirchen in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. UBSC Graz will play on the road against Dukes in Klosterneuburg and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Other games of round 23 were quite predictable and ended without any surprises. Here they are:
Vienna were defeated by Gmunden in Gmunden 83-71. Bottom-ranked Klosterneuburg was beaten by Wels at home 56-74. Furstenfeld lost to Kapfenberg on the opponent's court 92-99.

Gmunden - Vienna 83-71

There was no surprise when 5th ranked Vienna (10-11) was defeated on the road by second ranked Gmunden Swans (16-6) 83-71 on Monday. The game was mostly controlled by Gmunden Swans. Vienna managed to win third quarter 26-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was international forward Enis Murati (194-88, agency: Octagon Europe) who had a double-double by scoring 22 points, 7 rebounds and 10 assists. American-British guard Michael Ojo (195-89, college: Lehigh) chipped in 17 points and 8 rebounds. American point guard Anthony Clemmons (186-94, college: Iowa) produced 24 points and the former international guard Stjepan Stazic (199-78) added 15 points and 6 assists respectively for the guests. Gmunden Swans have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain second place with 16-6 record behind leader Oberwart. Vienna at the other side keeps the fifth position with 11 games lost. Gmunden Swans will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Vienna will play at home against Kapfenberg Bulls (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

No shocking result in a game in Klosterneuburg where fourth ranked Raiffeisen Wels (11-9) defeated bottom-ranked Dukes (4-17) 74-56 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Raiffeisen Wels. Dukes managed to win fourth quarter 18-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Dukes to just 7 points in second quarter. Raiffeisen Wels made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 24 Dukes turnovers. The best player for the winners was American guard DeJuan Wright (190-88, college: FIU) who scored 14 points and 4 assists. Czech center Ales Chan (215-80, college: Seton Hill) chipped in 13 points and 6 rebounds. Four Raiffeisen Wels players scored in double figures. International center Jozo Rados (208-93) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points, 19 rebounds and 5 assists and forward Jurica Blazevic (199-94, agency: Interperformances) added 9 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Raiffeisen Wels maintains fourth place with 11-9 record. Dukes lost ninth consecutive game. Rather expected game when 6th ranked Furstenfeld Panthers (10-12) were defeated on the road by third ranked Kapfenberg Bulls (13-9) 99-92 on Saturday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Furstenfeld Panthers won third quarter 22-21. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Furstenfeld Panthers 35-24 including 21 on the defensive glass. Kapfenberg Bulls looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was Serbian point guard Bogic Vujosevic (190-92) who had a double-double by scoring 22 points, 6 rebounds and 13 assists.
