The game between Top Four teams took place in Gmunden. Their biggest opponent host Gmunden Swans (16-7) lost to first ranked Redwell Gunners Oberwart (18-4) 80-70. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Gmunden Swans. The game was mostly controlled by Redwell Gunners Oberwart. Gmunden Swans managed to win second period 22-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Redwell Gunners Oberwart forced 21 Gmunden Swans turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American forward Jamari Traylor (203-92, college: Kansas) stepped up and scored 18 points and 9 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners and his fellow American import point guard Derek Jackson (185-91, college: Kent St., agency: Mansfield and Associates) chipped in 17 points, 6 assists and 5 steals. At the losing side American-British guard Michael Ojo (195-89, college: Lehigh) responded with 14 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Defending champion maintains first place with 18-4 record. Gmunden Swans at the other side keep the second position with seven games lost. Redwell Gunners Oberwart are looking forward to face Kapfenberg Bulls (#4) at home in the next round. Gmunden Swans will play against Dukes in Klosterneuburg and are hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
The game in Graz was also worth to mention about. Fourth ranked Raiffeisen Wels (13-9) played at the court of 8th ranked UBSC Graz (6-17). Raiffeisen Wels defeated UBSC Graz 76-65. The former international Davor Lamesic (205-83, agency: Interperformances) nailed 21 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side and Dejan Cigoja accounted for 14 points and 4 steals. International Anton Maresch (191-91) came up with 23 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for UBSC Graz in the defeat. Raiffeisen Wels have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to third place. UBSC Graz at the other side keeps the eighth position with 17 games lost. Raiffeisen Wels will play against Vienna (#5) in Wien in the next round. UBSC Graz will play at home against Arkadia Lions and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
The game in Furstenfeld was also quite interesting. 5th ranked Vienna (11-12) played at the court of seventh ranked Furstenfeld Panthers (11-13). Furstenfeld Panthers defeated Vienna 89-78 on Sunday. Marko Car fired a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!), 13 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Stjepan Stazic produced 26 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for lost side. Furstenfeld Panthers maintains seventh place with 11-13 record. Loser Vienna keeps the fifth position with 12 games lost. They share it with Arkadia. Furstenfeld Panthers will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Vienna will play against Raiffeisen Wels (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Sixth ranked Arkadia Lions (11-12) crushed at home 9th ranked Dukes (4-19) by 26 points 89-63, which is the biggest margin this round. Worth to mention a great performance of Florian Trmal who helped to win the game recording 22 points and 9 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Arkadia Lions moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Vienna. Dukes lost eleventh consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 19 games lost. Arkadia Lions' next round opponent will be UBSC Graz (#8) on the road. Dukes will play against the league's second-placed Gmunden Swans and hope to win that game.

UBSC Graz - Wels 65-76

Dukes was better in fourth quarter 21-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Arkadia Lions shot the lights out from three nailing 12 long-distance shots on high 63.2 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. 27 personal fouls committed by Dukes helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities.
