Marko Car
Croatian Shooting guard Marko Car (188-SG-85) had a very impressive game in the last round for Furstenfeld, receiving a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 25.
The 31-year old player had a double-double of 35 points and 13 rebounds, while his team beat Vienna (#5, 11-12) 89-78. Furstenfeld maintains the 7th position in Austrian A Bundesliga. Furstenfeld is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 11-13 record. In the team's last game Car had a remarkable 54.5% from 2-point range and got six three-pointers out of 9 attempts. He has many years of experience at Furstenfeld, through which he has constantly improved. Marko Car has solid league stats. He is league's best scorer averaging so far 20.7ppg. Car is in league's top in assists (2nd best: 5.8apg).

The second best player in last round's games was 25-year old American Derek Jackson (185-PG-91, agency: Mansfield and Associates) of league's leader Oberwart. Jackson had a very good evening with 17 points, 4 rebounds and 6 assists. Of course Oberwart cruised to a 80-70 relatively comfortable win over slightly lower-ranked Gmunden (#2, 16-7). It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Oberwart consolidated its place in the very top position of the standings. His team lost just four games this season, while they won 18 matches. Jackson is well-known at Oberwart and is a proven leader in his second season with the team. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 15.8ppg (#9). He also recorded 5.2 assists per game.

Third on the list of top players last round was Argentinian forward Fabricio Vay (207-F-86, agency: Interperformances) of Arkadia (#6). Vay showcased his all-around game by recording 13 points, six rebounds and five assists in the last round. He was a key player of Arkadia, leading his team to a 89-63 easy win against the lower-ranked Klosterneuburg (#9, 4-19). The chances of Arkadia ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 12 games, recording just eleven victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Vay could help Arkadia to bring them higher in the standings. Vay has a great season in Austria. After 23 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 18.8ppg (3rd best) and rebounds with 8.2rpg (4th best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Florian Trmal (199-F-89) of Arkadia - 22 points, 9 rebounds and 2 assists
5. Milovan Draskovic (211-C-95) of Arkadia - 18 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists
6. Anton Maresch (191-SG-91) of UBSC Graz - 23 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists
7. Jamari Traylor (203-F-92) of Oberwart - 18 points, 9 rebounds and 2 assists
8. Davor Lamesic (205-PF-83) of Wels - 21 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists
9. Marino Sarlija (207-C-89) of Furstenfeld - 18 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists
10. Sebastian Koch (202-F-88) of Vienna - 22 points and 6 rebounds

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
