The most exciting game of round 28 in the A Bundesliga took place in Traiskirchen. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of 5th ranked Arkadia Lions (13-13) to third ranked Kapfenberg Bulls (15-11) 89-86 on Sunday evening. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Arkadia Lions. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Arkadia Lions won third quarter 24-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. 24 personal fouls committed by Arkadia Lions helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Kareem Jamar (194-92, college: Montana) who helped to win the game recording 20 points and 6 steals and the other American import power forward Carl Baptiste (208-90, college: Delaware, agency: Diamond Sports) who added 18 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side the former international point guard Benedikt Danek (176-86) responded with 16 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. Kapfenberg Bulls maintains third position with 15-11 record having five points less than leader Oberwart. Arkadia Lions at the other side keep the fifth place with 13 games lost. They share the position with Vienna. Kapfenberg Bulls are looking forward to face league's second-placed Gmunden Swans in Gmunden in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Arkadia Lions will play on the road against Furstenfeld Panthers and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Gmunden Swans will play against Kapfenberg Bulls (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Raiffeisen Wels will play against the league's leader Redwell Gunners Oberwart and hope to get back on the winning track.

Marino Sarlija fired a double-double by scoring 16 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. Anton Maresch produced 23 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists for lost side. Furstenfeld Panthers maintains seventh position with 12-14 record. UBSC Graz lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the eighth place with 20 games lost. Furstenfeld Panthers will meet at home higher ranked Arkadia Lions (#6) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. UBSC Graz will play against Vienna in Wien and hope to secure a win.
9th ranked Dukes (4-22) were outscored at home by sixth ranked Vienna (13-13) with the biggest margin this round 87-55. It was a very good performance for Sebastian Koch who helped to win the game recording 23 points and 6 rebounds. Vienna moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Arkadia. Dukes lost fourteenth consecutive game. They stay dead last with 22 lost games. Vienna's next round opponent will be UBSC Graz (#8) at home.

Gmunden - Wels 84-66

The game between Top Four teams took place in Gmunden. Second ranked host Gmunden Swans (19-7) defeated 4th ranked Raiffeisen Wels (13-12) 84-66. The game was mostly controlled by Gmunden Swans. Raiffeisen Wels was better in fourth quarter 21-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Gmunden Swans made 19-of-24 charity shots (79.2 percent) during the game. The winners were led by international forward Enis Murati (194-88, agency: Octagon Europe) who scored that evening 15 points and 8 rebounds and forward Toni Blazan (195-92, agency: Mansfield and Associates) supported him with 18 points and 4 assists. Four Gmunden Swans players scored in double figures. Gmunden Swans' coach Bernd Wimmer allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Vienna made 24-of-28 charity shots (85.7 percent) during the game, while Dukes only scored eight points from the stripe. Vienna forced 19 Dukes turnovers. 27 personal fouls committed by Dukes helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a very good performance for international forward Sebastian Koch (202-88) who helped to win the game recording 23 points and 6 rebounds. Serbian Predrag Miletic (193-84) contributed with 22 points and 5 rebounds (made all of his eight free throws) for the winners. Four Vienna players scored in double figures. International center Jozo Rados (208-93) replied with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 13 rebounds and forward Jurica Blazevic (199-94, agency: Interperformances) added 15 points and 4 assists in the effort for Dukes. The Arkadia Traiskirchen Lions announced two signings for the upcoming season. Kevin Payton is coming from Wels where he played for the former WBC since 2015. Payton had to deal with a couple of injuries in the last years. He was limited to just three games during the 15/16 campaign.
