Traditionally, every week we bring you a list of the top performances of Austrians who are currently playing abroad.

Benjamin Ortner
Benjamin Ortner
#1. This week's number one is an experienced former international power forward Benjamin Ortner (206-83, college: Metro St., currently plays in Italy). He contributed to an easy victory against the ninth-ranked Auxilium TO (11-12) 89-70 in the Italian Serie A in Sunday night's game. Ortner scored 8 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 20 minutes on the court. Umana Reyer Venezia (15-8) is placed second in the Serie A. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. This year Ortner averages: 3.5ppg, 2.7rpg, 2FGP: 52.5% and FT: 54.2% in 22 games he played so far. He played for the Austrian senior national team four years ago.

Jakob Poeltl
Jakob Poeltl
#2. Second place goes to former international forward Jakob Poeltl (213-95, college: Utah, currently plays in NBA). Poeltl led Toronto Raptors to an easy victory against the Indiana Pacers (35-34) crushing them 116-91 in the NBA last Sunday. He scored 12 points, had 7 rebounds and made 2 blocks. The Toronto Raptors have 41-29 record this season. It's Poeltl's first year with the team. Poeltl's overall stats this year are: 2.5ppg, 2.9rpg, 2FGP: 50.6% and FT: 57.1%. He played for the Austrian national team in 2015.

Rasid Mahalbasic
Rasid Mahalbasic
#3. The Austrian player who performed third best last week abroad was an international center Rasid Mahalbasic (210-90, agency: BeoBasket, currently plays in Spain). Mahalbasic could not help Sevilla (8-15) in their last game. Despite his good performance Sevilla was badly defeated 89-70 at home by the much higher-ranked (#6) Gran Canaria. Mahalbasic scored 13 points and had 3 steals in 23 minutes. It was Sevilla's seventh consecutive loss in a row. It's Mahalbasic's first season with the team. He has relatively good stats this year: 11.7ppg, 6.5rpg, 1.4apg, 2FGP: 61.9%(60-97) and FT: 74.4% in 13 games. Mahalbasic has a dual citizenship: Austrian and Slovenian. Ex-kelag Worthersee Piraten player is also a member of the Austrian senior national team.

Thomas Schreiner
Thomas Schreiner

Schreiner recorded 6 points in 17 minutes. MoraBanc Andorra (12-11) is placed eighth in the Liga Endesa. Schreiner has been at the team for five years. This season his overall stats are: 4.2ppg, 1.8rpg and 2.2apg in 23 games. Schreiner is also Austrian national team player.

Moritz Lanegger
#5. International point guard Moritz Lanegger (190-90, currently plays in Denmark) was not able to help Naestved in their game against Svendborg (13-15) in the Danish Ligaen. Despite his very good performance on Monday night He was the top scorer with 15 points. Lanegger also added 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Lanegger's total stats this season are: 6.9ppg, 4.2rpg, 4.0apg and 1.3spg. He plays currently for the Austrian national team.

Thomas Klepeisz
Thomas Klepeisz
#6. Point guard Thomas Klepeisz (186-91, currently plays in Germany) was not able to secure a victory for Braunschweig (5-17) in their game against EnBW Ludwigsburg (13-12) in the German BBL. Klepeisz cannot count it as his best performance. He scored only 2 points and added 8 passes in 26 minutes. Braunschweig was edged 80-78 on the road by the higher-ranked (#7) EnBW Ludwigsburg. This year Klepeisz's total stats are: 6.1ppg, 1.4rpg and 1.8apg in 21 games. He is an international player who is currently on the senior Austrian National Team roster.

Maximilian Hopfgartner
Maximilian Hopfgartner
#7. International forward Maximilian Hopfgartner (206-92, also represented by Dynamics Global Management, college: John Brown, currently plays in Spain) couldn't help Navarra (13-12) in their game against Blancos de Rueda (4-19) in the Spanish LEB Silver (third division). Hopfgartner recorded 8 points. Navarra was edged 68-66 in Valladolid by the lower-ranked Blancos de Rueda (#14). They ended the series of three consecutive victories. This season Hopfgartner has relatively solid stats: 12.5ppg, 5.9rpg and 1.4apg. He is also Austrian national team player.

The list of other players, who all have Austrian passport but never been selected to any of Austrian national teams:

#1. Bryce Douvier (201-F-91, college: Texas A&M-CC, currently plays in Portugal) led Ovarense to a victory over the sixth-ranked Sampaense (4-21) 87-78 in the Portuguese LPB in Sunday night's game. He was MVP of the game. Douvier recorded 23 points and grabbed 7 rebounds; quite an impressive performance considering it's only his third season in pro basketball. Ovarense Dolce Vita (14-12) is placed first in Places 7-12 group. Douvier has individually a very good season with high stats. He averages: 15.8ppg, 9.8rpg and 1.2apg. Douvier is a naturalized American. Strangely he has never played in Austria.

#2. Luka Asceric (202-SG-97, currently plays in France) managed to help Lille Metropole Basket in a victory against the 16th-ranked Aix-Maurienne (9-14) 80-76 in the French ProB (second division) on Friday night. Asceric scored 5 points in 23 minutes. Lille Metropole Basket (14-9) is placed third in the ProB. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. Asceric has averaged so far 5.4ppg, 2.9rpg and 1.7apg in 20 games he played so far.

#3. Experienced Michael Kaiser (195-G/F-82, currently plays in Germany). He could not help Herzogenaurach (4-19) to beat Oberhaching (11-12). Kaiser cannot count Sunday's game as one of the best ones. He scored only 3 points and added 3 passes. The 13th-placed Herzogenaurach (4-19) was defeated 80-70 on the road by the higher-ranked Oberhaching (#8) in the South-East group. It was Herzogenaurach's fifth consecutive loss in a row. There are only three games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. Kaiser is one of the most experienced players in a team as it's his ninth year in Herzogenaurach's roster. Kaiser has reliable stats this season: 14.0ppg, 3.2rpg, 2.9apg and 1.5spg.
