Aleksandr Rindin (225-C-85, agency: Interperformances) finished the season abroad as his Universitet-Yugra was second in Russian SuperLeague. The Azerbaijani averaged 5.1 points per game and tasted silver with his team. Ural meanwhile wins Superleague title tonight. The team overcame Universitet-Yugra 55:54 and won the Final series 2-1.
The hosts trailed by 1 point after three quarters before their 17-15 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Ural Ekaterinburg made 20-of-25 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Ural Ekaterinburg outrebounded Universitet-Yugra 45-28 including a 17-5 advantage in defensive rebounds. 27 personal fouls committed by Universitet-Yugra helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for Semen Shashkov who saved his team from a defeat with 22 points and 9 rebounds. Dmitri Nikolaev (200-83) contributed with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 14 rebounds for the winners. Linas Lekavicius answered with 11 points and 9 rebounds and forward Denis Hloponin added 10 points in the effort for Universitet-Yugra. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game.
In Game 1 Ural grabbed 74:72 victory but then fell short in Surgut. In Game 2 Univ.Surgut celebrated a 72:65 win to tie the records at 1-1.
Last season Aleksandr Rindin started for PGE Turow Zgorzelec (Poland-PLK), but in Jan.'11 moved to Genc Telekom (Turkey-TB2L) and in 13 games averaged 3.3ppg, 2.5rpg, 1.1bpg.

Gala-Atena claimed D1 title. They swept the Final series against Gyandzha. Gala-Atena recorded a 72:65 victory in the second game of the series to claim the title. Gala thus repeated as Division champions. They overcame Araz-NTD in the last seasons Final.    [read more]

Gala-Atena earned the opening win in the championship series. They defeated Gyandzha 60:53 to pull in front in the series. It was a close battle but Gala used all of their experience to come out as winners. The second game of the title series will also be played in Port Baku.    [read more]
Gala-Atena and Gyandzha reach Finals - Apr 23, 2013

Gala-Atena and Gyandzha will play in Azeri League Final. They clinched victories in their respective semifinal series. Gyandzhda however did not need to sweat for the victory. They won by the technical decision as their opponents NTL-Maxxis could not fill in the roster for the games. Gala-Atena in the meantime faced AzTOP in the semis.
