Aleksandr Rindin (225-C-85, agency: Interperformances) finished the season abroad as his Universitet-Yugra was second in Russian SuperLeague. The Azerbaijani averaged 5.1 points per game and tasted silver with his team. Ural meanwhile wins Superleague title tonight. The team overcame Universitet-Yugra 55:54 and won the Final series 2-1.
The hosts trailed by 1 point after three quarters before their 17-15 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Ural Ekaterinburg made 20-of-25 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Ural Ekaterinburg outrebounded Universitet-Yugra 45-28 including a 17-5 advantage in defensive rebounds. 27 personal fouls committed by Universitet-Yugra helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for Semen Shashkov who saved his team from a defeat with 22 points and 9 rebounds. Dmitri Nikolaev (200-83) contributed with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 14 rebounds for the winners. Linas Lekavicius answered with 11 points and 9 rebounds and forward Denis Hloponin added 10 points in the effort for Universitet-Yugra. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game.
In Game 1 Ural grabbed 74:72 victory but then fell short in Surgut. In Game 2 Univ.Surgut celebrated a 72:65 win to tie the records at 1-1.
Last season Aleksandr Rindin started for PGE Turow Zgorzelec (Poland-PLK), but in Jan.'11 moved to Genc Telekom (Turkey-TB2L) and in 13 games averaged 3.3ppg, 2.5rpg, 1.1bpg.  



NTD advance into championship series - 15 days ago
NTD became the first League finalists. They cruised past Veterans 64:106 in Game 2 of the semifinal series to complete the sweep. NTD were victorious 103:72 in the opener. In the meantime 80ies refused to give in. They toppled Dervish 77:60 to even things up in the semifinal series. 80ies and Dervish will decide on the finalist in Game 3. NTD and Dervish win Semifinal openers - 21 days ago
NTD and Dervish win the Semifinal openers in the country. They proved their ambitions to reach the Final overcoming the opponents on the weekend. NTD did not leave any chance for Veterans in a 103-72 victory. Dervish meanwhile grabbed a valuable 51-46 win against 80-ies. Second games are planned for the next Saturday, March 11.   [read more]
D1 Round 14: NTD beat Veterans in the most crucial game of the week - 28 days ago
The Regular Season in D1 just ended. What a coincidence that all visitors won their games. An exciting game was played in Baku. Second ranked NTD faced 4th ranked Veterans. Guests from (11-1) smashed host Veterans (4-8) 113-34. NTD have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 11-1 record having just one point less than leader Dervish. Newly promoted Veterans dropped to the fifth place with eight games lost. The game in was also worth to mention about.    [read more]
