Neftchi are the Azeri League champions. They clinched the top position in the championship that had been played in the round-robin format. Neftchi defeated Neftchi-2 48:27 in the final round to claim the trophy. Neftchi-2 finished in the second position. BSU occupied the third position. They overcame Symgayit 41:27 in the final round.

AZERBAIJAN - MOLDOVA 68-45
Azerbaijan avoided last place at 2012 European Championship for Small Countries (Division C). They cruised past Moldova 68-45 in the last day of the competition in Ohrid. Azerbaijan shined at the beginning of the second half to take the comfortable win in this game. Quarters: 22-15, 10-11, 26-10, 10-9. Azerbaijan shined at the beginning of the second half to take the comfortable win in this game. Quarters: 22-15, 10-11, 26-10, 10-9. Anastasiya Biryuchkova (170-G-90) led the winners in scoring with 27 points. Dina Ulyanova (185-SF-89) was the MVP of this meeting with valuation 37. She had 22 points and 14 rebounds. In Moldova, Galina Cuznetov (193-C-89) (12 rebs) and Diana Sokolov (170-PG-88) (5 rebs) netted 8 points each. Austria won the Gold in Ohrid. FYROM finished as No.2, while third place belonged to defending champs Malta.

Gibraltar celebrated its first win at 2012 EuroBasket for Small Countries in Ohrid. They outsmarted Azerbaijan in thriller 76-77 and will fight for the fifth place at this event. Their rival will be Wales. At the other side, Azerbaijan is now in position to fight to avoid the last place in Ohrid. They will meet Moldova.
