Sweden posted the first win at 2013 EuroBasket Qualifying Round. They powered past visiting Azerbaijan for 1-1 record in Group B. Christian Maraker (206-PF-82, college: Pacific) accounted for 19 points to lead the hosts.
Azerbaijan opened the game aggressively. The hosts set the tone scoring 25 points in the first ten minutes and taking a 10-point lead. It did not take long for Sweden to recover. The hosts organized a rally that put them within one at halftime 41:42. Jonas Jerebko (206-PF-87) allowed the hosts to spur in front early in the third term. Sweden piled up a 66:60 advantage heading into the fourth frame. Azerbaijan stayed close throughout the first part of the final quarter but then the visitors ran out of steam and Sweden capitalized. The home team went on a 13:3 run to post a 90:77 lead. Sweden did not look afterwards cruising to the victory. Jonas Jerebko delivered 18 points, 7 assists and 6 boards for Sweden. Kenny Grant (188-G-82, college: Davidson) added 14 points and 10 rebounds in the win. Jaycee Carroll (188-G-83, agency: Priority Sports) answered with 27 points for Azerbaijan. Rasim Bashak (200-F-80, agency: Court Side) had 24 points in the loss.

Amil Hamzayev (ex Gyandzha) joins BK Kremen - 2 months ago

BK Kremen Kremenchuk (Superleague) added to their roster 26-year old Azerbaijani power forward Amil Hamzayev (204-90). The last time (12-13) he played at Gyandzha in Azerbaijani D1 league. The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others Hamzayev played in the final of Azerbaijan League for two years in a row (2012 and 2013). Endar Poladkhanli agreed terms with Hopsi Polzela - 2 months ago

Hopsi Polzela (Telemach League) strengthened their roster with addition of 18-year old Azerbaijani power forward Endar Poladkhanli (198-98). He played most recently at Azerbaijani U18 National Team. Poladkhanli received All-European Championships U18 Division C 1st Team award in 2015 and 2016. He represented Azerbaijan at the European Championships U18 Division C in San Marino this year. Galatasaray Odeabank Istanbul (BSL) strengthened their roster with addition of 27-year old former Azerbaijani international power forward Orhan Haciyeva (200-89) from TED Kolejliler.
