Azerbaijan National Team celebrated their second win at the European championship in Division C. Both wins came against Gibraltar with the latter one bringing the overall 7th place for the team. Azerbaijan proved their strength throughout the encounter and never doubted their dominance. Gomez nailed 2 freebies to put Gibraltar ahead early in the game. But Azerbaijan went on a 9:0 run and never looked back again.

But Azerbaijan went on a 9:0 run and never looked back again. Zycova capped the first frame with a jumper to give Azerbaijan a 12:5 advantage. Cross scored 4 points in a row, while Mauro hit from downtown as Gibraltar came as close as 4 points from Azerbaijan at the start of the second term. Rammage then dragged the team within two points from Azerbaijan. But Shimichenko accounted for 6 points as Azerbaijan cleared off to a safe distance once again. They led 30:20 at the interval. Mahmudova and Zycova enlarged the margin early in the third frame. Azerbaijan mounted the pressure throughout the frame and stretched the gap to as many as 17 points heading into the final quarter. Gibraltar cut the deficit to 10 points through Sene and Gomez but Azerbaijan withstood the effort. Mahmudova and Shimichenko sealed the winning outcome for Azerbaijan at the end. Shimichenko and Zycova dropped 16 points apiece for the winners. Alisultanova had 8 points and 9 boards for Azerbaijan. Cross and Sene answered with 7 points each for Gibraltar. Melissa Parody pulled down 11 boards in defeat.

Welsh National Team celebrated a comfortable win over Azerbaijan in the lower playoffs at the European championship in Division C. Wales will now play against Scotland for the 5th spot tomorrow. Azerbaijan will fight for the 7th overall spot in the game versus Gibraltar. The teams entered the game trading baskets with neither side able to clear off. Alisultanova kept Azerbaijan ahead for some time.

Welsh National Team celebrated a comfortable win over Azerbaijan in the lower playoffs at the European championship in Division C. Wales will now play against Scotland for the 5th spot tomorrow. Alisultanova kept Azerbaijan ahead for some time. Wagstaff and Trott teamed up for 6 points in a row and Wales jumped ahead but Azerbaijan had the last laugh in the quarter. Musayeva and Biryuchkova scored 5 points and Azerbaijan led 14:13 at the end of the first frame. Yalland nailed a bunch of freebies early in the second stanza to regain the lead for Welsh side. Wales limited Azerbaijan to just 5 points in the second quarter and spurred ahead 23:19 at the interval. Jennings and Short gave Wales a 12-point advantage midway through the third frame. But Azerbaijan refused to surrender. Shimichenko and Zycova cut the difference to only 6 points late in the quarter. Shimichenko then nailed her second triple of the game and the margin was narrowed to a single point. But Trott, Jennings and Wagstaff crowned the period with 8 consecutive points and Wales led by 9 points heading into the final quarter. Wagstaff and Jennings made it a 46:31 game early in the fourth. Azerbaijan simply collapsed over the final minutes as they failed to score in the quarter and suffered a bitter loss. Rebecca Short nailed 14 points and pulled down 9 boards to lead Wales. Sarah Wagstaff provided 12 points in a winning case. Yana Shimichenko answered with 9 points for Azerbaijan.

Luxembourg smashed Azerbaijan 101:24 in Day 3 of European championship in Division C. The hosts of the tournament won the group with 3-0 record and advanced to the semifinal. Lynn Schreiner (158-G-91) led the winners with 20 points. Lisy Hetting (169-G-90) netted 16, while Jil Haentges (182-C-90) posted 14. Zycova ended up with 12 points and 10 rebounds, while Biryuchkova produced 6.

Luxembourg smashed Azerbaijan 101:24 in Day 3 of European championship in Division C. The hosts of the tournament won the group with 3-0 record and advanced to the semifinal. Zycova ended up with 12 points and 10 rebounds, while Biryuchkova produced 6. Haris opened the scoring list for the hosts from the arc. Zycova scored quickly for Azerbaijan for 3-2. After that Luxembourg produced 20-0 run to answer for all the questions about the winner. Ludivig with a jump shot closed the opening quarter at 27:3. Azerbaijan remained scoreless for another four minutes an scored only in the middle of the second for 38:4. Musayeva made one free throw for her team in the game. Biryuchkova's free throw was the last in the half, 48:11. In the third quarter Luxembourg remained on top of the game and had 28:9 in it. Weynandt's three opened the last period with 79:20 and the task for the hosts was to reach three digits. With 36 seconds in the game Jil Haentges made a lay-up for 101:24 as Luxembourg triumphed in the game.
