National Cup final tournament organization for Hall of Shame
This year`s organization of the National Cup final tournament easily qualifies for the Hall of Shame after all that`s been going on around it. Namely, tournament organization was given to Igokea for the second year in a row. However, that`s not the issue. The issue is that Igokea submitted its application for the organization too late. As a reminder, deadline for submitting application was 11 AM sharp. Igokea representative submitted their application at 1:30PM, which was too late. Clear case, right? Well, it seems that Igokea had to get organization of this year`s final tournament and Basketball Association of Bosnia and Herzegovina had no guts to fight powerfull team and their boss from Laktasi. Basketball Association has determined that all applications had to be submitted by certain time at its headquarters. Siroki Prima pivo and Posusje have done it in time. Igokea did not. Their representative decided to wait a meeting with Basketball Association presidency in order to submit his offer. If the presidency accepted Igokea`s application why the same presidency made a deadline for submitting applications. It seems that the Basketball Association presidency does not respect its own deadlines?!
Learning that Igokea`s application was accepted after the deadline, Siroki Prima pivo decided to drop from the competition and rightfully so. Igokea`s representative had two and a half hours to find out what Siroki and Posusje had offered and accordingly make a better offer for the final tournament organization. That way, Siroki, that would most likely win this year`s National Cup on the basketball court kept its pride. Igokea and Basketball Association acted as if nothing has hapened and shamefully organized the final tournament in Igokea`s arena for the second year in a row. And, if somebody cares about National Cup winner: there is no winner. It will only be recorded that Igokea received the 2006/07 National Cup. There will always remain an asterisk next to this year`s National Cup "winner" due to all circumstances surrounding the final tournament organization.
