Bosnian National Team today officially started preparation for the Eurobasket 2009 qualifications. Head coach of Team Bosnia Mensur Bajramovic called 15 players to join this project but one of them is under the big question mark. It is Dragan Tubak (203-C-87) of KK Borac Cacak (SRB) player of FMP Zeleznik, who is still recovering from the injury. The new face in Team Bosnia is Nedim Pajevic (206-F-85) of Univ. of California-Santa Barbara (USA), player of University of California-Santa Barbara. During the last season Pajevic played 32 games for his school averaging 5.3 ppg, 3.8 rpg and 1.8 apg. His UCSB became the regular season champion of Big West.

Coach Bajramovic decided not to call MVP of the ULEB Cup last season Henry Domercant. Bosnia and Herzegovina is placed into Group D of the Qualification Round for Eurobasket 2009. In the first round, which is scheduled for September third, Bosnians will take on Czech Republic on the road. Three days later Bosnia will host Israel while on September 10th they will travel to Birmingham for the game against Great Britain. Two best teams from Group A, B and C will automatically qualify for Eurobasket. Unfortunately to Bosnians, only top team from their group will advance to the Eurobasket while the second one will have play at the additional qualifying round where six teams will take a place. The winner of this round will book a spot for Eurobasket. Two last ranked team from these qualifications will be relegated to B division next season.
