IX All Star Game
The IX All Star Game
took place at Vitalyur Sport Hall on January 12 opening 2008
Belarusian basketball year. The first five players of East and West
teams were elected by amateurs, another - were chosen by coaches.
Everyone intended to visit the match just to see wonderful show, and
everybody was satisfied with what he saw as lot of basket beauty was
presented there.
As for the game, both teams wished to win, and the final score
105:104 appeared to be proving of it. Special attention was given to
two premiere league stars Alexander Koul was playing for West and
Georhi Kandrusevich was involved in East. Both are main players to
be Championship MVP. The win in this match was on KG side of course:
sweet dunk through-above Alexander the Big and final-second earned
and realized fouls in the 4Q gave preference for the wizard of OZAA
to be named as IX All Star Game MVP. Kanstantin Yafremau was named
as the best player of West team.
Maksim Shustau won 3 points competition, and Sergei Dadykin was the
best in the dunk competition.
A fabulous
show and an amazing end of the game saw Belarus
spectators in All Star Game recently.
Heorhi Kandrusevich (197-F-78, agency:
Promotex) made 2 free throws with 1 second remaining
and brought the win for his East team, 105:104 over
West. He finished the game with 19 points for the
winners.
Heorhi Kandrusevich was named the MVP of the game
and deserved that award truthfully.
West however started with 30:26 win in the opening
quarter. The team looked better in the third as well,
but it happened only after 14:25 in the second.
Pavel Gabrusevich (194-G-82) scored 23 points for
West being the top-scorer of the game. Koule ended up
with 20, while Efremov scored 19. Shustov supported the
MVP player with 19 points for East. West-East 104:105 (30:26, 14:25, 30:23, 30:31) West:

Vitalyur won the Championship 2007 !!!
Vitalyur won the most important game of the season,
defeating in the 5th game of the final Grodno-93
91-67.
Vitalyur was clear favorite of the play-offs as they
won the regular season without any diofficulties.
However Grodno-93 was susprisingly equal partner in
the finals and they barely avoided the biggest upset
of the season as tehy stole 2 games in best of 5
final series. Vitalyur - Grodno-93 91:67 (33:20;
20:16; 20:20; 18:11)
VIII All Star Game The 8th All
Star Game was held in Belarus. EAST overcame WEST in a very
tough, however show game 115:113. The top scorer for the
winners was
Dmitri Kouzmine (197-G-75) with 21 points.
Heorhi Kandrusevich (197-F-78, agency:
Promotex) ended up with 26 points for the West.
This time the event took place in Brest in sport complex
Victoria. The teams showed an excellent basketball that was
greatly applauded by the spectators. East and West were
mostly consisted of the players from the 3 best teams in
Belarus. Those of them who play in the same team in the
Championship were selected for the same teams in All Star
Game. That helped the players and coaches to show some nice
combinations, knowing well each other.
It is a pleasure to mention that ALL the players who
participated in the game scored at least some points. That
is a very important factor to the players and to the coaches
of the teams. In the East, except

Aleksandr Verenich (202-F-71) added 20, Ignatik 16,
Konuyshenko 15, Sharko 11, Shustov 10, Bibik 8, Karankevich
6, Gabrusevich 6, Pitnikov 3. For the Westt except
Heorhi Kandrusevich, Sviridov finished with 15 points,
Efremov 14, Uskov 10, Maksimov 9, Vasilenko 9, Kachan 9,
Sviridov 8, Gubko 7, Poderachev 6.
The show was also accompanied with Slam Dunk Contest and
Three-Points Contest. Radchuk was the best Slam-dunker, who
represents OZAA. Pitntikov won the Three-Points Contest. The
latter represents Vitalyur.
Vitalyur
Claims Second Consecutive Title After
two wins straight home wins over Grodno-93 in the last weekend of May last
year's champions Vitalyur managed to retain their title for second year
running. The title holders needed two wins over their arch rivals from
Grodno to avoid the play-offs and they did just that. On both occasions
Vitalyur combined solid individual performances from Rinkiavicius and
Alexandr Bibik (200-F/G-83) with excellent team play. This year the team
might not have been as experienced as last year, however the players managed
to produce results in the nick of time and dismissal of head coach Feiman
and the arrival of Barisau at the very end of the season did not make a
