An interesting game for FYR Macedonian Kumanovo 2009 (2-1) which hosted in Kumanovo one of their biggest challengers Croatian Djuro Djakovic (1-3). Third ranked Kumanovo 2009 had an easy win 83-67. Djuro Djakovic trailed 41-39 at halftime, rallying from a 25-12 deficit at the end of first quarter to trim the gap. Kumanovo 2009 dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Djuro Djakovic's 28. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Aleksandar Kostoski (186-G-88, agency: Global Sports Plaza) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 19 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists. Swingman Ivica Dimcevski (194-89, agency: Interperformances) contributed with 24 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Kumanovo 2009's coach Ljubislav Lukovic used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Power forward Marino Sarlija (207-89) replied with 17 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for Djuro Djakovic. Kumanovo 2009 maintains third position in Group A with 2-1 record behind leader Galil Gilboa. Djuro Djakovic at the other side keeps the fourth place with three games lost. Kumanovo 2009 is looking forward to face league's second-placed Levski Sofia at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Djuro Djakovic will play against the league's leader Galil Gilboa and is hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
Bottom-ranked Montenegrin Mornar Bar is still unable to win any game. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their fourth consecutive match to top-ranked Bulgarian Levski Sofia (2-0) 89-84. Worth to mention a great performance of center Nikolay Varbanov (210-85, agency: Interperformances) who helped to win the game recording 25 points and 8 rebounds (on 11-of-12 shooting from the field) and Chavdar Kostov who added 19 points during the contest. At the losing side guard Milos Djurisic (194-88, agency: TSS Management) responded with 22 points (made all of his eight free throws). Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Levski Sofia will play against Kumanovo 2009 (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Mornar Bar will have a break next round.
Bottom-ranked Serbian OKK Beograd is still unable to win any game. The winners were led by Braxton Dupree who had that evening a double-double by scoring 25 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists. Even 19 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists by Jovan Koprivica did not help to save the game for OKK Beograd. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Rilski Sportist moved-up to third place in Group B, which they share with Kumanovo. Loser OKK Beograd still closes the standings with four games lost. They share the position with Mornar Bar.
